Let me just say for the record that it's noon, eastern standard time, and as far as I can tell none of the new ElectionFilter threads have devolved into the mess of baseless accusations and screaming threats I was afraid I'd see today. Thanks to everyone for keeping cool heads on this so far, and whatever happens I hope we can keep it this way. I know we're all tired of it.

Snyder's of Hanover makes a chip they claim tastes like a Coney Island Hot Dog. It tastes like a chip soaked in hot dog water and sparyed with fake mustard. Truly awful. However, I think they coat them in something addictive because every time I see them I buy a bag and eat them; and want to puke after.

the black pepper jack chips are crack. i ate bunches of them on friday night at a party.

uncle ray's (detroit based) makes some good chips... the roasted garlic ones are interesting (they don't always come with a bag of weed inside though).

uncle ray always has some weird (and often incredibly depressing) story on the side of the bag. "one summer years ago, my friend albert was severely mutilated in a freak accident. it reminds me of the time...." and all that sort, usually ending in an inspirational message. uncle ray is a strange guy.

so... election threads looking pissy yet? (i'm trying not to look, but as much as we bitch about the traffic backup and the rubberneckers, when the cop finally waves you past the pile-up you still want to peek...)

And I was serious about the fourth bit of advice, too, even though I finally lost my temper. He would really be happier if he didn't act like a pit bull with delusions.

uncle ray's (detroit based) makes some good chips

I actually had a couple bags of Ray's chips that I bought at a gas station in Danbury, CT of all places. The chips were good, plus they had moving sentimental stories of Ray's upbringing in the Detroit projects to read on the back of the bag. Flavor and pathos, what a combo.

well, see parisparamus in the "early exit polling" thread - it is possible to have a discussion about the election without obvious trolling. before paris began trolling, i started this thread - in the hopes that people like paris would not troll, and also (worst case scenario of course) that the 99% of us who agree wouldn't feel the need to flame the 1% who don't if things don't go our way.

so far only one troll, but there might be more under the birdge. i'll do my best not to be a liberal troll if i don't see the outcome i'm hoping to see...
