Adding tagging to Ask Metafilter?

So there's roughly 8,000 questions now in AskMe (# of June questions x 11 months).... May I humbly request an update on the tagging project, or any other ponies that could help make this the great resource it's screaming to be? And has any more thought been given to how metadata could be added to the questions already in the db?

Did I ever show off the new posting interface? I think I described it in full.

It's the first thing I will do once I set aside some time (this weekend is looking good in that regard). As for the tagging of old stuff, Jessamyn volunteered to help out and I figured me and her could tag them over the course of a few weeks (I'll probably rope in a few more volunteers that are good with librarian type things like standardizing metadata).

Actually I meant the "semi-pro" memberships. I've always wanted to pay for MetaFilter. Not doing so seems silly to me. I pay $20 a year for PC Gamer. Why shouldn't I pay $20+ a year for MetaFilter? Lord knows I get much more use and enjoyment from the later.

With all due respect, I think the "pro" features could languish on the drawing board for a loooooong time. Let's start paying now.

Why would I pay for something everyone else gets for free? Same reason I pay for public radio - Because I can, and I care enough.

KPBS gives me a cheesy license plate which I'm proud to put on my car. Give paid members a cheesy icon that will be displayed on their userpage. I reject the idea that people will only want memberships if they get some increased value for their money. The vast majority of regular users here are proud to be part of the community. I think they'll pay because of their sense of fair play and appreciation.

I'll be happy to pay for this site. I pay £126 a year for a TV licence. The filters are often much more entertaining and informative.

Besides, its the only soap opera I've ever been hooked on.

I donate some money every once in a while but, I agree, dont underestimate the desirability of just having a little gold star next to your name in exchange for paying.

Different levels of recognized membership, like you see for non-profits in the Arts. But, other than recognition, no special features for donors and they can also be booted out at any time.
