Is there a way to add words to the spell checker??? February 1, 2005 5:15 PM   Subscribe

Does anyone besides me find it ironic that our spell checker doesn't know the word "MeFi"? and... scary that the suggestion for the correct spelling is "Mafia"

Is there a way to add words to the spell checker???

The spelling checker is a third-party product, and not one that Matt has any control over.

If you run Firefox, I suggest installing Spellbound and doing your spell-checking locally.

If you have Safari or OmniWeb, hopefully you are already doing this.

Apparently my thrid party spell checker does allow for word additions, but I couldn't figure out a way to limit that functionality to just me, so I never enabled it.

And while we're whining about trivial shit, why is there a link called "Current Archives" at the bottoms of the main pages? I mean, isn't that oxymoronic? If it's current, why archive it?

It's been a long time since I've been able to tell a question from "whining about trivial shit"... I needed that!
