Should I report every error message I get from the site? March 16, 2005 11:59 AM   Subscribe

Metaquettefilter: When I see things like "Parameter 2 of function Right which is now 0 must be a positive integer" when I'm trying to get my nigh-hourly dose of ask.mefi, should I just assume a wizard did it, and it'll all get taken care of, or should I report it? I *hate* the idea of being the 3000th person to complain about something and thereby be part of what's keeping it from getting fixed....

MetaFilter: Just assume a wizard did it.

If you see something once, ignore it. If a certain thread or link or set of steps repeatably does it, do a few searches, then post something to MeTa, including OS and browser versions (rarely useful, but we're voyeurs).

Ignore the snarks, especially me.

My God, you saw error message "Parameter 2 of function Right which is now 0 must be a positive integer" and didn't report it? MeFi will permanently crash AND California should be sliding off into the ocean any second now.

Thanks a lot.

what kind of wussy software gives an error like that? no wonder this place keeps crashing. real software gives messages like #7845764598.

Just hire a couple of stoner freshmen and they can nag CF into submission overnight with their "what if zero totally is a positive integer" conversations.

I was told there would be wizards.

You just described my freshman year job. Whoah.
