When previewing a question on AskMe, under the "Your Question" field is the description for the "Extended Explanation" field: This will be the "more inside" area where you explain additional details about the question if necessary. If you use this space, don't write "more inside" to the question area, it will automatically be added for you.

And, at the top of the preview page: Here's how your post is going to look on the Ask MetaFilter page. If you added html, does it look right? It's also a good idea to try out any links before posting. If everything seems right, hit the post button below. If not, hit your browser's back button and tweak the form again.

One doesn't need to hit the browser's back button to edit the question as the form is immediately below the preview.

I added the first bit of text because people were still writing "more inside" in their questions, but you're right, maybe that time has passed and can be skipped.

And yeah, I'll remove the bit about the back button.

Matt, what about offsetting the more inside from the first part of the question? I think this was asked before... have you made a decision?

Also, I sent you an email earlier. In case it went awry, no [!]s appear on comments when you're previewing a post, which I thought was a bug but I suppose it could be intentional.

I think I might add a subtle line to denote the more inside on comment pages.

As for comment preview, very soon it will be completely different. I'll test out the new code here on metatalk tonight.

This is pretty minor, Matt, but if you want maximum clarity, you should use exactly the same name when you reference fields or objects more than once. Thus,

(if you must go on longer, use the optional extended area)

should be:

(if you must go on longer, use the optional "Extended explanation" section below).
