I
think there was an AskMe requesting evidence for the effectiveness (or not) of yoga and meditation, some time in the last few days. Was this post deleted, or am I just not searching on the right terms/tags? I tried
yoga,
meditation,
skepticism; nothing came up. Even the Google didn't help.

I study popular music, and needless to say I go to school with some pretty amazing musicians and song-writers, many of whom have MySpace profiles and websites with their songs on them.

Is there a current, viable Metafilter-specific Mac OS X Dashboard (or, for that matter, Windows-compatible) widget out there? I've found the old threads about
Metadash, but the page is defunct. I guess I could use a generic RSS widget, but I'd love something written from the ground up for this place.

Houston MeFites, we need to have a meetup to celebrate the arrival of summer. (Because if it gets any hotter - and you know it will - I will stop leaving the house altogether and you wont see me until October.)

Searching for signs of sentient life beyond San Francisco. Mefites in the Marin/Sonoma/Napa areas - are you out there? And do you eat things, and/or occasionally drink things? If so: don't you think it's high time we threw caution to the winds and had a meetup?

I don't understand what's wrong with my post linked to here:
Unethical AC. Members have been assaulting that post with derogatory comments. As an old woman, I feel I require explanation.

i'm looking for a previous post on women's shoes from a few years ago. It was a link to beautifully animated 3d renderings of the shoes being "built". 360 degree views. Can't seem to find.

Have you guys considered checking submitted comments/answers for links to previous comments/answers (via a number/hash sign fragment identifier ) in the same thread, and converting such instances to links that would instantly "jump" to the comment rather than reload the entire page? In addition to increased convenience for readers, I suspect such a change might significantly decrease service costs for large threads (like the recent MetaTalk thread approaching 1500 comments).

Small bug on the Post Anon preview page for Ask.Metafilter. When you are previewing your question before you post, under both the "Your question" and the "Extended explanation" boxes, it says both of those boxes will be used for the [more inside] part of the question. On the original Post Anon page, the box descriptions are correct.

Summon Pony of Wisdom: The references to
Miko's awesome comment in
this post got me thinking. How would one go about retrieving every comment
under a certain category with a certain number of favorites or higher? Like if I wanted every "Human Relations" AskMe comment with 200+ favorites?

Loquacious is in hospital with a collapsed lung and wanted me to pass this info on. He's been texting from hospital - swedish first hill - and will be in for a few days. He will be coming out from hospital to joblessness and, in short order, homelessness, and with my support and encouragement he is asking mefites for help.

I recently posted an AskMe which received no responses. I realize (and knew at the time), the question I asked was quite narrow and didn't expect many responses (it had to do with an esoteric business management theory). So no responses doesn't really surprise me. Yet 5 users marked it as a favorite. I'm interested in finding out why people marked it as a favorite. Is it acceptable MeTa-quette to MeFi-mail them and ask if they're willing to share why they favorited it?

...and, and what about those--those... "MeFite comedians," anyway? Yooouu know the ones I'm talking about: stand-ups, sketch comedians, "kooky performance artists"--I mean, come
on, who *are* these people and are there any links to their stuff? Really!

Here be a callout / question: Considering
this question and the
poster's history of chatfilter-esque questions, it leads me to wonder... can people get banned for extensive dubious use of Ask?

There's a bit too much "too much __________________" going on in MetaTalk. Every other day, MetaTalk hosts a thread wherein a user complains that a subject they find uninteresting is being overdone on Metafilter. Such threads are an expression of
individuals' disinterest in a subject, and while there's nothing intrinsically wrong with such disinterest, it's somehow evolved into a continuing reoccurrence within MetaTalk that's just utterly purposeless.

frequently as we've been seeing.

It seems like Projects should have tags. We could then see a list of "similar things MeFites work on." Is this something being worked on? If not, how come? Just curious.

I can see Cortex's point in deeming my FPP about Delta airlines losing a dog as thin. But I was hoping that a MeFite local to Mexico City might have some suggestions about findings the dog. Delta claim that it escaped. Isn't it worth leaving the post, to have suggestions about locating it? Perhaps I should have made this clearer in my post?

MC Frontalot is playing Dante's in Portland this Monday night. Monday night gigs are usually sparsely attended so I was thinking we could fill the crowd with PDX mefites. Here's how: I'll buy a ticket for any MeFi member standing in front of
Dante's at 7:45pm. Let's do this.

I submit that
this post was deleted for unsound reasons. There was no editorializing included and the post did not break any guidelines; indeed, the video linked in the post is unique, newsworthy, and "best of the web": it shows a rare insight into these types of events.

New flag proposal: region-restricted content. When such content is posted, many of the comments are complaints regarding the region restriction. Perhaps this enthusiastically and frequently voiced discontent would be better expressed via a flag.

What's the standard for avoiding double-posting? About a week ago I made an FPP on the Gulf oil spill. It was not top news at the time and not many people outside the area knew about it. My post ground to about 90+ comments and stalled. This morning, another FPP came up about the same spill.
