Workplace Sensitivifilter. I seem to be in disagreement with a large number of people on whether the Japanese "rising sun" flag is inappropriate for the workplace, per a tangentially related ask.meta post.

Find-that-Question: A while ago there was a question about a website/application that would throw all sorts of cool little radar screens and such up on the screen. I think it ultimately was used to make a background in a news conference? I'm not sure. But can anyone find it? I'm tried searching for all combinations
(wha? "combinations" isn't in the FF 3.5 dictionary) of
computer,
screen,
movie,
radar, and
website. Help :/

I went to post a reply in
this AskMe thread and the 3 most recent comments I saw in Recent Activity seem to have disappeared. They've since also disappeared from Recent Activity. Bug or moderation?

Now that Season 3 of Mad Men has begun, I'm seeking a way to watch it weekly, and it occurred to me that we Tucson MeFites have an especially stylish way to do so....

Meetup junket! I bought one of the last Jetblue
All You Can Jet passes (
previously on metafilter), and I'm gonna spend the month from September 8th through October 8th flying around, and hopefully meeting up with a crapload of mefites in the process. Help me figure it all out.
(NYC, Boston, Portland ME, Vermonsters, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Baltimore, DC, Raleigh, Vegas, LA, San Francisco, Salt Lake, Chicago, Denver: I'm talking to you!) [

So my little snowflake
melted *shrugs*. Cortex had
cleaned it up. As I said in one of the deleted comments: one of the joys of this site is that difficult or "problematic" themes can often be discusssed without it every time descending into a shitstorm. Signed: confused.

Perhaps some people might have missed hearing and/or be interested in hearing that MeFi member
Jacquilynne has taken down her blog,
The Good, the Bad, and the Etsy, on which she served up the best and worst of Etsy with a generous dollop of hot, sweet snark. The Good, the Bad, and the Etsy was posted to
Projects, and subsequently to
the front page, and was building a good readership when Jacquilynne decided the fun of posting wasn’t worth having to deal with the death threats(!) from some unhinged Etsy crafters. I still can’t get my head around the fact that anyone
would threaten someone’s life for critiquing their crafts, especially when said crafts were ripe for everything that Jacquilynne said about them. Jacquilynne, it’s a shame your blog had to die because some Etsy sellers have a tighter grip on their shears than they do on their sanity, but thankfully, you are still with us.

stupid "popular favorite" question of the day: why can't I "add to favorites" from the popular favorites page?
OK talk to you later.

DragonCon, which may not have the cachet PAX but is still cool, is coming up in Atlanta over Labor Day. Last year, although a number of MeFites said they were attending, I only ran into
jpburns. (He was remarkably accommodating of the number of times I stopped by his booth.) Is anyone (who presumably can't make it to PAX) going this year, and if so, would like to meet up?

Under
popular favorites why is there "n
favorites in the last 24 hours"? Is that of interest to any of you? I'd rather see " n
answers in the last 24 hours", so I know whether or not I should revisit a thread.

OK, at some point during the past eight years, somebody posted a little Metafilter comic strip they'd drawn. I've been trying to find it but google is not behaving.

I was experimenting with Google's search suggestions feature when I noticed that it gave some interesting results for "metafilter + [letter]". Since it returns the most popular search terms starting with that phrase, what you get for each letter is an A-Z listing of the most sought-after topics related to Metafilter. So without further ado, I give you...
Metafilter A to Z.

Kind of a very silly question, but I recall seeing at least one post floating around that describes Anonymous - things such as having a poor sex life, needing a divorce, etc. Can you hope me find this post, hive mind?
Mostly for the lulz.

I am wondering if people could assist me in locating Ask Metafilter questions along the lines of
this and
this. I know it's a concept frequently asked about, but evidently the concept's too amorphous for tags to be of help, Related Questions just circularly refer to each other, and I can't find the right Google-
fu for this one.

In honor of the wave of rebrandings including
"The Shack",
"The Hut" (blog self-link) and
"The Nick" (which is not really how it's being rebranded but OP had to make a joke), can we now just call this site
"The Filter"? After all, the Internet was long ago shortened to "The Net" and the World Wide Web to "The Web". Right?
...signed, "The Dell"

Sadly not from the Onion, but actually from the Sunday Express, whose story appears to be an extreme misrepresentation of the truth, and various blogs who’ve taken that untruth further via internet Chinese whispers. Can we ditch this from the blue or at least add a note to the effect that it is in fact bollocks?

Technical bobbin - when you click on any category in the right-hand bar in AskMe to browse only posts from that category, all the questions in the list have an extra 'at' in them:

I think it was here that I came across a great webpage listing forum trolling techniques that read like an academic listing of informal logic fallacies. It had things like finding errors in small and irrelevant details, ad-hominem attacks, using provocative and loaded terms, shifting claims, concern trolling etc... I've looked for it several times recently and can't find it. Anybody remember the link?
