End of another long week, let's carve out a space to talk about something other than politics for those that need that space. 2020 is a leap year, which means we all get an extra day, and this year, for the first time in almost 30 years, 29 February falls on a Saturday (tomorrow). I'm trying to find a post that I am 99% certain was made on the blue within the last 5 years. It linked to an interactive site that was trying to communicate how as we get older we perceive time passing faster because we have more context / memories compared with when we were younger. [more inside]
Was there an increase in the edit window's window?
Went to make my second edit in an ask answer (i suck at typing apparently) and noticed the "Time Remaining to Edit: " was 5 mins and some seconds. Missed grabbing a screenshot unfortunately. I thought the edit window was 5 mins... did I mis-remember, has it changed, or just a random bug? [more inside]
Time zone pony request
Not having updated my preferences for a while, I was a little taken aback when posting a comment today that I had somehow gone back in time two hours. I then realised it was the whole Australia having moved onto DST while the US has moved off it thing. So a small pony request: instead of having to manually adjust the time offset in terms of +/– hours from the server time, would it be possible to choose a particular time zone, so that it would automatically change along with local changes such as daylight savings?

Sixteen years ago today, an unemployed 29-year old in Kendall, Florida followed a link from memepool and history was changed. or something. Both me and mefi are still around, course. After two job changes, four moves, a wedding or two, countless flamewars, tons of meetups, twitterstalkers, phantom cookie gifters, tons of members dropping in at my job, numerous kids, parties, gifts of beer, potato chips, harmonicas and drug paraphenalia, and of course tons of great people coming and going. In many ways, I'm still the same guy who wandered in here, but I'm also much changed as well. As a wise man once said, what a long strange trip it's been. Thanks to all.

Pony Request: Math is hard!
Last week I was going to make an FPP and got the "too soon!" message. I see this often because I tend to post in bursts, so I look up the last posting time and do some mental math.
Since the form knows I've already posted in the last 24 hours, would it be possible to just have it tell me at what time I can make the next post?

When do I make my comments and posts?
I was thinking about this last night: has anyone made a tool that aggregates and visualizes when comments are made by a given user? I think it would really cool to look at an interactive time series graph, to see over a given time period if I am posting more between 10 PM and 11 PM vs 10 AM and 11 AM between MM/DD/YYYY and MM/DD/YYYY. Perhaps it would be weird to look at other people's profiles like that, but it would sure be fun to look at my own profile in that view.
Method for tracking interesting slow-burn threads?
Most posts in the blue or green seem to be active for a day or two before contributions trail off. However some continue to grow over a much longer period (or are resurrected by a new flurry of activity). I am thinking of this Edward Snowden thread which is still going strong after a month, for example. Those who have posted to such threads can normally maintain awareness of them via "Recent Activity". Is there any way of doing so for the rest of us? If not then could this be considered as a feature? [more inside]

I seem to remember having the option to view more than just the week's popular posts. I think it was most popular of 24 hours/ week/ all time or something. Now I can't do it. I can only see the week's. Am I imagining things? Have I suddenly become incompetent? Or has this changed and I just didn't know about it for whatever reason?

Feature request: would it be possible to add an option to display the time of posts in 24 hour notation instead of the default 12 hour? It's not hugely important but it would be so nice for us Unamericans.

Time Traveler Still Adrift
Update to now-closed thread: A time traveller in a 40s photo was theorized to be Albert and a message was dispatched to the internet to confirm. Today the internet replied that the time traveler is not Albert. (The property visible in the background did belong to Albert's family, though, according to this source.)

What is the ideal time fo the week to ask a Ask Mefi question to maximixe views and responses.
So I've asked a few AskMefi questions now, and have noticed that they tend to get responses for about five hours, give or take, then the responses stop. When is the optimal time during the week to ask my AskMefi question, so that I get the maximum number of eyeballs looking at my question, and thus, get the maximum number of answers. I know that this may not necessarily increase the quality of the answers I get. I am talking about sheer quantity. Thanks!

I've got my timezone set to UTC but Meta thinks it's 0.25 on the 14th when it's actually 23.25 on the 13th. Is this a 2k7 date hack that's fecked the site up for all non-Americans, or has the time gone wrong for everyone?

As of now, questions asked in the morning appear to get many more replies than ones asked at night, which scroll off the bottom as the morning-risers repeatedly ask where they can get a tattoo or a decent meal in New York. ;-)

I was perusing threads on Bipolar Disorder, and found this one from May, 2005: Is bipolar mis/overdiagnosed?. I was able to post a comment to the thread today, November 6th, 2005.
