mefi projects [ab]use

I posted a personal project to mefi projects about a year ago. Ive made a few (fairly significant) improvements since. Appropriate to post it again, or abuse? Linking to it here seems possibly shady, so ill say that when it was posted, I was using a different username, and that the project was a real time html/css/javascript editor. "significant improvements" mean syntax highlighting for the code panes and targeted editing (edit the innerHTML of a particular element/container rather than the entire page). enough of a change to warrant a repost? also worth noting - I posted to projects when it was still a prototype (interesting concept with little use) in 2005, and again when it was more polished (usable). It was featured on the front page two months after its second appearance in projects. this is just a non-commercial personal project that I tinker with from time to time.

Anonymous questions of the most mundane order

Is it me or are some people abusing the anonymous question loophole? Sometimes, it's pretty strange to me, some of the questions that are asked anonymously. And some may have their reasons, but I'm guessing most people who ask questions that make no sense (even with a creative) do it so they don't "waste" their question. Ironically, I would've thought this impossible given Matt's comment about recent code that makes this impossible, but I asked an anon < 7 days ago and I can still ask a normal. So, this may be a bug report more than anything, Matt.

A freaky unfortunate turn of events: As an update on a very old thread on nudism that questioned and debated the gray area between nude adults and nudist children in the setting of a nudist colony, one defender of nudist culture from that discussion was arrested on charges of child sex abuse late last year (still being held awaiting trial afaict). It's freaky to go back and re-read the debate knowing what eventually came to pass.

Matt asks for feedback on an abusive multi-account user

So the FreeSpeech guy came back today. For those that have never heard of him, he's also PrivateParts, RightWinger, and PatMcGroin among other accounts.

In the past, I've deleted his most inflammatory posts and banned his IP range and accounts. His real name is Mike Allen, and he works as a temp, so he gets a new IP range with every new job. I know he lives in LA, and I've been told he's a 36 year old guy that lives to fuck with chat rooms and message boards.

He contends that I'm a "self-righteous left wing politically correct little prick who cant take a fucking joke on your precious site" and that I'm a censorship nazi that can't handle his right wing views. He calls Aaron a pussy and claims that aaron is a moderate (I pointed out that there are non-abrasive right wing members of MetaFilter that never get banned).

His email is michaelpatrickallen@hotmail.com and I don't know what the fuck to do about him. I just told him to stop, but he basically told me to fuck off and he'd keep it up forever and that the site deserves to be torn down by him.

He's the user I always feared existed. The freak with unlimited time and not a care in the world, someone that would do anything in their power to destory whatever you've built. Someone that won't listen to reason, and doesn't care to debate anything.

What the fuck am I supposed to do? I'm tired of following around and picking up his messes these past few months, and I don't want give up and let him win, but what else is there to do?
