Metafilter 10th Anniversary party line and voice mailbox. Numbers inside! At the suggestion of several denizens of #mefi, I have set up a Metafilter 10th Anniversary party line and a 10th Anniversary voicemail shoutout box. The phone number for the party line is +1 (269) 978-1641. The phone number for the voicemail box is +1 (866) 603-7817. This number is toll-free and can only be reached from the USA and possibly Canada. If anybody would like, I can supply a standard worldwide-reachable number for this mailbox in addition to the existing number. Obviously, the voicemails are being recorded. The conference is being recorded too. All calls and comments may be used for lulz or other purposes and may be disseminated to anyone! You will be reminded of this upon calling. Meetups on six continents? Weak. We must recruit one or more researchers for an Antarctic tenth anniversary meetup. Any members spending the winter at McMurdo Station or one of the other year-round camps? Surely some mefite knows a friend-of-a-friend in the program.

Big Southeast Asian 10th anniversary meetup

Are there enough MeFites in Southeast Asia for a satellite meetup for MetaFilter's 10th anniversary? With all the talk surrounding MetaFilter's 10th anniversary and the meetups being organized around it, I noticed a gaping hole in the Southeast Asian region! I would love to organize a meetup in Manila, but last time I checked (a minute ago), there were only 4 registered members in the Philippines, which is a depressingly low number, unless anyone from any neighboring countries are interested in coming over. I'm not sure how many MeFites there are in Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc. but I would really like to meet fellow MeFites in the region and I am always looking for an excuse to travel to neighboring countries, so if anyone else is organizing nearby, I would so be there! Beyond bardic stepping up and stavros stepping down regarding a Seoul meetup, there has been nary a whisper about anyone organizing anything within the region. So, Southeast Asian MeFites, are you up for it? How do we do this? Please crawl out of the woodwork!
