Back, back, back into time

I know we're all excited about tags at the moment but this comment got me looking at the 'MetaFilter gatherings' category. Upon arrival you are given a further optional time period option (7 days, 30 days, all days). If you select 'all days' you go back in time, but not all the way back. I know I can manually manipulate the URL [&lastweek=n] to return a complete 'all days', but that's not what I'm asking. Is there a reason why the 'all days' dropdown doesn't actually return 'all days'? [NB all categories]

Single Day AskMeFi Archive Browse

Is there any way to browse the Ask archives a day at a time? Browsing by date (e.g. http://ask.metafilter.com/archived.mefi/10/01/2006/ ) currently brings up an entire month at a time, which is rather unwieldy. Addicted to AskMeFi as I am, I like to browse old posts when I finish reading the latest stuff. A one-day-at-a-time browse would make it much easier for me to keep track of which days I've already read. (And for that matter, a feature that automatically keeps track of which archive days I've already read would be AWESOME - but mostly I'd just like to be able to browse a day at a time.)

FYI: Remember the "Vienna phonebook thread"? The archival collection we used to find all that information is (finally) being opened to the public with a presentation tomorrow afternoon here at the Holocaust Museum in Washington.

Sidebar: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 years ago... 6, 7? I mean, I can type it in manually, but I figured I'd suggest it and see if enough people want it. And I'm not saying to go on indefinitely, could turn into "1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15 years ago" over time, as per mathowie's decendants' wishes.

having stumbled through the wiki and come out no wiser, a query: is there anywhere a concise source for metafilter history? i'm particularly interested in how the 5$ fee came to be conceived, and the effects (short-, mid- & long-term) it had on the blue/green/grey.

Is there a quick and simple way to view all the projects I've ever voted for? I vaguely recall someone asking about votes in people's profiles ("...and voted for # projects") but I can't find it (or the answer)
Now that we have our favorites so nicely organized, I wanted to go back and find the projects I had previously voted for, because some of those were probably things I would also want to favorite.
I'm clicking all over the site (profile, projects, comments, favorites) and can't find what I want...

Pony: Year included in the posted by line. With the year a posting was made appearing only once at the top of the page browsing the archives can be confusing. [MI]

For example how about changing the posted by line to:
posted by Mitheral at 7:38 PM MST on 2006/06/04 [+fave] [!]
or:
posted by Mitheral at 2006/06/04 7:38 PM MST [+fave] [!]

Neither of those is longer than the worst case of :
posted by Mitheral at 5:58 AM MST on September 30 [+fave] [!]

FeatureRequest: MeFi bookmarks.

FeatureRequest: MeFi bookmarks. I would love, on AskMeFi and MeFi, to be able to click "bookmark this link", and then be able to go to a page that lists those links I have bookmarked. Ideally sortable by post date and last comment date, searchable by keyword, but the sort/search isn't totally necessary.

"Why not bookmark it in IE/Mozilla?" Well, call me picky but I really prefer to reserve browser bookmarks for main pages of sites I visit ALL the time (i.e. MeFi/AskMeFi). It'd be nice to have a local archive of the stuff I'm tracking and want to keep coming back to.

AskMe Archives by Category

Is there a way to see archived posts in Ask MeFi more than 30 days old by category? If not, it seems like an extremely useful feature--perhaps even show ALL posts by category and then just do "older results" at the bottom of the page on and on until the beginning of MeFi time...

When I try to page through my AskMe archives by clicking "next," the same results start each page and some older ones are added to the end.

So, uh, when you check through your old Ask.Me threads that you've posted in, and use the numbers at the bottom to skip pages (or the "Next" link)? It totally doesn't work (perhaps the offset variable is broken?). Firefox and IE. Just FYI.

Occasionally I like to trawl through the MetaTalk archives. There used to be a link on the front to 'current archives' then 'all archives' but that seems to have disappeared with the introduction of the 'next' and 'previous' links. [more inside]

Banishment History

Is there any history of banishment here? And if so, what happened to cause being banned? In all my years of visiting, I have never read about an actual occurance of this.

I did a couple of searches and came up with nothing.

When I try to view the askme archives by category, I can only view the most recent page of questions in that category. Is this just me being mentally challenged?

AskMe archives missing a way to go to older pages

When viewing a category in AskMe, it defaults to the last 30 days. Unfortunately, it seems to neglect to show the clever widget to allow one to go back further. It shows in MetaTalk's categories.

When I click on the username in this archived MeFi thread I am taken to an old post with the same number as the user, i.e. the url says 'mefi' instead of 'user'. Only true for the original post, not for comments.

Why isn't Ask Metafilter archived more extensively? Why is it not searchable? Seems like a great source of info and trivia.

Does googling ask.metafilter.com get the archives? I was gearing up to chime in about visiting Moab for i_cola, when I had a moment of deja vu. The domain restricted search turned up only two non-results... but searching on my MetaTalk comment history broght me what I was looking for.
