Berlin meet-up? Since the grill-boat looks prohibitively expensive, I was thinking of grilling here on my terrace sometime in the next few weeks...whenever we have a really sunny, warm week-end. Let me know if ya'll are interested and if you can find a long-term weather forecast. If you don't know where I live I will tell you in a memail. Not this week-end though.

Wir feiern Obama in Berlin! Come join us. Hi Berliners! I'm gathering with some friends at an as-yet-unnamed bar in Neukölln to celebrate the inauguration. No jumbotron, but live internet transmission and a Bush pinata! Things get started around 16:00 Uhr at Schoenleinstrasse 6 (U-Bahn 8, Schoenleinstrasse Station).

Berlin meetup 24/25/26 July? I'll be in town for a few days, mainly to see Barack Obama. The date of his visit appears not to be set in stone - in fact, it appears no one knows for sure if and when he will make his rumoured public appearance - but I just booked on a whim. Assuming Obama will speak on the 24th, for the time being I suppose planning a meetup on the evening of the 25th or 26th seems ideal. But depending on how things pan out, 24th is a possibility too. I'll be staying in Mitte (surprise!), on Torstrasse near Friedrichstrasse. I've never been to Berlin before, though, so I'm open to any suggestions. So, any takers?

Hallo Berlin. I arrive on June 2 and would love to meet you. Anyone in the mood for a something sometime thereafter? I'm returning to your beguiling city after nine years, this time for a several-month stay that's something more than just a visit. I have no suggestions for a venue, am open to anything, and will be happy anywhere drinking or eating anything. I'm camping in Prenzlauer Berg but will gladly travel. PS I would have written this in German but at present I only inflict my mangling of the language upon close friends. Also, it would have taken me about five hours.

February Berlin meetup? So, I heard a rumor that Muckster would be back in town due to this little film festival they're putting on here in town next month. Anyone up for a meetup? Promi-watching in Potsdamer Platz? Or hiding out from it all somewhere else entirely? Wie wär's mit einem Bierchen, Berliners?
