I'm frustrated about this post being deleted! I felt like the discussion was illuminating and was not particularly snarky and was much better than the post itself. Or am I too invested in the post because I was being so active in the discussion and couldn't see how it had to go? Help me understand!

Why doesn't the Metafilter search also look through deletedthread to find duplicates?

There was a list in the last few weeks of a bunch of weird places to get christmas gifts. One was the american science supply and the author commented that a similar list was put up last year. Searching metafilter and ask metafilter has proven fruitless. Can someone get me back to the post? thanks.

Deletion Stats?

I'm an avid reader of Puke & Cry's Deleted Thread blog, and it got me wondering: Do any of the admins have stats on the most posts deleted in one day? Or, the most doubles (i.e. the most posts on one topic that were deleted - I'm guessing it must be an obituary post, maybe James Brown)? Or, the longest time span without a deletion? Etc.

Note: The deleted post of mine was supposed to be saved as a draft...I didn't mean to publish it on my own site. I've just found cutting and pasting code is easier than typing it (blogger to mefi). If you note, I've re-drafted it, and as it is a relavent and news-worthy topic, would like to see it reposted.
