Feel free to reply in an acerbically humorous fashion. Or not. Up to you.

Contact Filters

My little pony: On the contacts page, can we have links to filter contacts based on the XFN links we've applied to them? [more inside]

Region filter?

How about some kind of regional filter for AskMe questions that relate only to a specific country/area? Like this one. If the question appeared on the front page as [AU] What should I do ..., it would be more easily brought to the attention of people who could answer it and allow people who can't answer it to easily skip over it. View Only Favorited Comments?

I assume this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find it. So maybe not. So maybe I'll ask: For those of us who might like to get the cream of the comments without spending so much time digging through them -- such as on posts with hundreds of 'em -- could we have a "view only favorited comments" button or something? FeedRinse is a wonderful tool for filtering web feeds that are produced by multiple author

I'd like to point out that FeedRinse is a wonderful tool for filtering web feeds that are produced by multiple authors. It filters out posts if they contain certain terms. I've already created a couple of MeFi channels. This one filters: pepsi, israel, religion, newsfilter, congress, fitz, rove, federal, eff, google and perjury. This feed filters the terms I've outlined already, plus the words 'iraq' and 'apple'. And this Metatalk feed filters the following terms: video, flag, dios, spoiler, delete, chatfilter, pony and editorializing. I thought about adding the term 'ban' to that one but sometimes those posts are *too* entertaining.

Formatting alert

In this post the formatting of the "posted by..." message is weird.

Tired of bush/iraq/war/terror posts

Could someone skilled in JavaScript please compose a script for the Firefox extension Greasemonkey that will remove any FPP with "Bush", "Iraq", or "War on Terror" appearing in the text? It would also be great if this script could allow custom word filtering.

Secret URL for work filters

Lots of people have complained about MetaTalk being banned as a "gaming site" so I created a new secret URL for MetaTalk too.

This is sorta Devil's Advocatey

This is sorta Devil's Advocatey, but I'd like to hear a discussion on this. As an example, I've noticed today that there are a couple of music oriented MeFi posts, which is nothing new, but now that there are a couple music-specific MeFi-like sites out there, would it not be better for people to start getting into the habit of utilizing them? To keep MeFi from remaining as polluted as it is? Or do some feel those MeFi Wannabes should be ignored? I mean, why have multiple MeFis if we're not taking advantage of their presence? And if a decision is made, will that turn into Topic Policing? Is there a solution that can be found before it becomes a problem?

Can we rate comments like slashdot?

What do people think about a ./ -like feature allowing you to rate comments made by others, and then a filter feature allowing you to ignore comments below a certain threshold?
