So yesterday there were three separate FPPs linking to this month's Wired magazine. I'm not criticizing the posts (the discussions were interesting, the additional links in one of them were informative, etc.), I just find it odd. Was there any relation between the posts, or was it just random? [more inside]

I am just curious regarding this post
, how exactly it could be revised to be acceptable? Is the horror of the topic itself simply not appropriate for MeFi, or is linking to some vague news descriptions but not repeating them or posting the source material what's desired?

has turned into one of the worst threads related to health, obesity and body image I've seen around here in ages. Can we please
not generalize to assume people who are overweight have some sort of mental instability, gluttony and/or poor self or impulse control? It's rather ugly. Thank you.

I am publicly turning in my FPP homework assignment.
I would like to think I purposely make dumb FPP mistakes so the newer members are less intimidated to post.
However, thank you rouftop
for pointing out the obvious also everyone
who applauded him.

I have sent a query to admin, but to help me get a better idea of what the MeFi community (overall) thinks, and the perspective they come from, I'm looking for feedback and discussion about why my FPP
was deleted. I'm looking for reasons why, not simple statements of objection. I'm not looking to respond or debate with anyone. Unless a technical question is asked of me, I probably won't respond. I would sincerely just like to read and take or leave what I find. Thank you. [more inside]

Is there a government shutdown thread I'm missing somewhere? I've looked in AskMe and haven't noted anything on the blue. Is it being considered newsfilter? [more inside]

My FPP this morning supported legitimate outrage against a clearly terrible list of movies. This deletion is totally unwarranted and should be reversed.

Has the average daily count of front page posts increased over the last five years? When I joined back in 2006, I seem to remember the average being something like 23-25 posts a day. Now it seems to be about 33-36 posts a day. Do the numbers back me up? Or am I imagining things?

about women's reproductive rights and the definition of rape was rapidly taken over by a discussion of how old white men who don't fit the stereotype of old white men get their feelings hurt when "old white men" is used as a pejorative.
For those of you who want to continue that conversation, for those of you who want to discuss your frustration over the hijack, please--for the love of god--take it here instead.

Does this strike anyone else as odd? This FPP
contains two links to a t-shirt store (where the shirts are quite literally blue,) and a third link to an site with an ad/link to the same store.

I posted a FPP that was rightfully deleted, however out of it was coming some interesting details about the topic and I'd like to learn more. Can I rephrase it as an ask mefi or is that bad form? [more inside]
