what's the deal? two space colonization posts¹,² separated by less than two hours... and the second one contains what appears to be a self-link that actually only links to the metafilter homepage (href changed by matt?) and is accompanied by accusations of billy maulana-ism (fwiw, his googlebomb is still a top ten result three weeks later) and a clever touche by sylloge. can somebody explain?

Is Google bomb-proof now? After seeing "verisign" posts all over the weblog world, I decided to check the progress on Google. The article calling for the bomb is #79 in a search for Verisign as of right now, and the link itself within the post doesn't show up in the first 100 results for me. Perhaps Google has gotten wise to everyone's shenanigans?

Slate wonders if Googlebombing will ruin the poor little seach engine that could. Cap'n Haughey gets a meniton for the Critical IP imbroglio. There's some weird editing botch at the end that I imagine will get ironed out later.

Daypop shows "whinnied" as the fourth most searched term today. Searching for this term produces three measly hits. What's up with "whinnied?"
