Does "Christ, what an asshole" count as an "In Joke"? Someone posted that comment - not about me, I hope - in my last thread. And when I saw it again in a thread from today, I teasingly called it a "double". Then I belatedly realized that it's something of a tradition. [Apparently, I am not aware of all Internet traditions.] I hadn't thought to check the In Jokes page on the MeFi Wiki first. But it any case, it's not there. I know I can add it myself. But before taking action, I thought I'd do a spot poll to see whether people think it belongs there.

A crucial piece of Mefi social commentary has disappeared. Will it ever be seen again? I wanted to send an acquaintance of mine the infamous Metafilter Safety Guide created by fandango_matt. Unfortunately, while the original still exists, the edited version has vanished from the internets. Unfortunately-er, Google and Coral cache come up empty-handed, while Archive.org throws up some odd error about the site using "an invalid or unsupported form of compression." Is there any other place on the web where the comic can still be found?

I'm getting tired of the increasing tendency to add "filter.com" as an implied criticism of the theme of a thread or post, e.g. in this thread we start off with two - northkoreafilter.com and iranfilter.com. Is it just me, or does anyone think this getting a little old.
