One-link, one-or-two-word MeFi posts bugging you? We've had a few lately. Maybe it would help to display the tags on the front page. [more inside]

Minor feature request: a via field on the blue's posting page. As part of the redesign, I'd love to see an optional field for including a "via" link. Two reasons: (1) it would encourage posters to acknowledge the source of the link, if applicable; and (2) it would allow some interesting statistics to be generated from the aggregation of via data.

The HTML markup of Metafilter proper ("the blue") differs from the markup of Metatalk and Ask Metafilter. Given the upcoming changes to Metafilter's look, can we expect similarity in markup across the site, or should we explicitly not rely on undocumented features of Metafilter? [mi]

I'm highly interested in the new design of Metafilter. Is there any chance we could get a preview? I understand that we were able to view the winning designs, but I was under the impression that it would incorporate elements from all of the good ones, so I'd like a peek, as I'm sure the rest of the site would.

I believe the deadline for the MeFi Design Contest has passed. Does anybody who entered have the nerve to show off their actual entries to the MeFi public? I have half a notion to, but I don't want to be the first (or anything before sixth) to expose my web design shortcomings...

Crazy idea: What if Matt removes the paragraph/linefeed tag from the front page and all text formatting and adds a 'first post/more inside' box to the post a link page? The front page is simply cluttered and annoying when people have a lot to say directly on the front page. Perhaps even a character limit. The less of this the better.

On the front page I sometimes mistake a thread with an empty line and then another link in the comment for two separate threads. I don't associate all of the text with a single post because the spacing is the same as it would be for two posts. It's a minor thing and I realize there was more to the comment when I view it, but what about adding a delimiter to make it easier to tell threads apart? Or am I the only one that makes this mistake?

This is the second front page post in a week ridiculing bad small business design. A bad precedent, and today's post is aggressive to boot. (inside)
