Pony: Can we please get bigger text-entry boxes? Well, the fires seem to be put out and even the twitter boxes on our profiles are updating again, so why not trot out a pony? It seemed like something that must have come up earlier, but either it's never been addressed in its own post, or I'm full of google-fail today. Every time I write a comment or post, and it gets lengthy, I start wishing I had a bigger More Inside box to work with; as it is, I frequently compose posts in another app, just so I don't have to scroll so much to see what I've written. Can we please make the More Inside boxes bigger? Longer? Wider? Other properties that make me think of incredibly juvenile penis jokes?

Let's NOT go down the "more after the jump" path.

Posts such as this one or this one don't really make for a good post, at least from the front page's POV. How about an addendum to the posting guidelines to nip the god-awful "more after the jump"-style of linking in the bud before it starts to take over on MeFi?

Oh, well, if there's MORE inside I'll read it then.

Why do we need to know there is more inside? This occured to me over at AskMe, and I find the [more inside] actually does nothing in terms of my MeFi experience. If a question is ill-formed on Ask, I'm not tempted to find out what else lurks behind it, and if there are more details pertinent to the question and the question is well-formed, I'll get those [inside] details when I click on the question anyway. In short, the tag doesn't affect my reading behaviour at all. I'm just wondering if I'm in the profound minority here, or if most people don't really give [more inside] no nevermind. I understand that the division of longer posts is useful for both browsing and NSFW link purposes, but does the actual appearance of [more inside] at the end of a line affect anyone's to-click-or-not-to-click decisions?

I can has [more inside] indicator on the user activity / posts page?

Regarding the AskMe RSS feed formating - Currently there is no line break between the question and the [more inside]. Sometimes this makes for an odd run-on and repetitive paragraph that isn't what the poster intended. Since screen real-estate isn't a problem in the feed, might the powers-that-be consider throwing a paragraph between these sections? I use google reader but it's also formatted the same way in bloglines if this helps.

Bug/Feature Expansion Request: YouTube links in MetaFilter's [more inside] don't display the optional embed icon. It's been brought up recently on MetaTalk that YouTube linkdumps are possibly better formatted using [more inside]. I mentioned this issue at the time, but got no response from admin. It would be great if (for those of us who have the option checked) links to videos on YouTube in the [more inside] got the embed option too. Please if there's been discussion on this topic before or a reason given previously for NO do point me that way. I'm also curious what everyone thinks about YouTube linkdump posts. Don't forget to mention how much you love and/or hate them, or if you couldn't give Ratt's ass either way (bonus points for being creatively sardonic).

More inside everywhere! Well, not technically everywhere, but the blue, Metatalk, and Music now have a [more inside] option when posting. (This has been available at AskMeFi for quite a while already.) No need to add to your own "more inside", "after the jump", or "below the fold"; [more inside] will be a appended to the post if an extended description is available. As always, bugs are probably lurking, and I know there are sections of the site that aren't expecting [more inside] yet, but we'll update/fix as we go.

On this question, brownpau claims that there is information missing from the original question. However, it's just that the words "[more inside]" are not displayed in the question's page. I've noticed this a few other times; a turn of the phrase that is meant to end in the [more inside] looks out of whack and, until I realize that it's happened again, appears to be have something missing. Should [more inside] perhaps be placed inside the thread, as well, to lessen confusion, even though, technically, we're already inside?

Could the "Post" button on new AskMe questions trigger a script to check that the first part of the question ends either in a "." or a "?"? This would bring an end to the [more inside] "witticisms" (e.g. Assuredly there's [more inside]). I realise it is minor, and that I have also once been guilty of propagating this lame disruptive meme.

Minor AskMe usability gripe: Can [more inside] be a link to the thread? When a question is unanswered, the only way to get into the thread is by clicking "0 Answers." It seems more logical to click on [more inside].

A wee pony for the holidays: How about a "More Inside" option for the Blue, so that interesting posts like this one are not consistently derailed by people pissing and moaning about "too many paragraphs on the front page" or some other such useless pedantry.

In askmefi, I occasionally see some posts where the first question field ends with "of course ..." as if the rest of the sentence is cut off. In older posts, though, that phrase usually ends with "... there's more" as in "of course there's more." Is it because it's an askmefi cliche and that metafilter users are perpetuating it as a joke, or if it's because that particular sentence is automatically truncated by admins who deem it unnecessary because of the [more inside] denotation?

I know you're eager to win the $30 for best post of the day, but please limit your linkstraganza to one paragraph on the front page. Paragraph breaks give the appearance of multiple posts on the front page and can cause confusion. Recent examples include this post and this post. If you absolutely must have more than one paragraph in your post, put the first on the front page, and the remainder in the first comment. Thanks in advance.

Probably another stupid question: I have a lengthy "more inside" for the front page post I am working on and I can't seem to get paragraph breaks to work. The "more inside" comes out as one long block of text and I want to break it up. I have searched the FAQ and tried my limited HTML magic. What code do I use to break paragraphs up around here? Sorry for the n00b question.
