Ottawa meetup on the 20th of February, any takers? In light of the recent developments in the OC Transpo fiasco (*crosses fingers*) I say we celebrate with an Ottawa MeFi meetup. I'd suggest the 20th of February, which is a Friday night. What say you?

Autumn has come; the leaves in the Gatineau Hills are changing, and now that the election campaign has come and gone, the scrutineers are growing their glossy winter pelts. Maybe time for an Ottawa meetup? Yon search function tells me it has been a year since any such notion was pitched, and I think it's high time we of the turgidly named National Capital Region met up and made merry sport. As a reference point, how does some Friday evening in November sound? What is people's pleasure? Somewhere in The Glebe? Byward Market, perhaps? Further afield?

Can we have another meetup in Ottawa with hopefully more than two people? What're the holidays without a bit of MeFi cheer, eh? I know SassHat is interested and I definitely am most eager to forget all about final exams and relax in a pool of snark. We've managed it before, albeit in duos rather than crowds. So c'mon, oh denizens of diplomat-town, gather up. :) I propose weekend of 21st-23rd, either the Friday night or the Saturday night. Venue's up in the air; there's always the almost traditional Vineyards but new places would definitely be cool, too. Discuss!

MeFi Ottawa: 11 members, spousal units and lurkers made it to Pub Italia last night, where we consumed obscure beers, made boisterous small talk, annoyed other patrons with our flash photography, and crafted inappropriate shoutouts. So far, sboivert's photos and my photos have been posted to the MetaFilter pool on Flickr; aedra's photos, containing many more shoutouts, will be up once I let her have some time in front of this computer.
