Just curious...

Dear Reddit: Please help me save my son. Maybe this doesn't belong on MeTa and my apologies if not, but I didn't think it really warranted the blue. Its an interesting, honest, somewhat sad thread from Reddit that is getting a lot of comments / traffic. Yet for all intents and purposes reads exactly like something I'd expect to see on the green, here. I'm curious - has this happened much before with the Reddits/Diggs/etc. and I've just completely missed it? Or is this possibly the start of some of the other BOTW aggregation sites moving a bit towards what AskMe pioneered? Or is it just a complete anomaly?

This thread is useless without images... of your new tattoos

What's up with the recent bump in prison-related questions on AskMe? Has anyone else noticed a bit of an uptick in these questions? We've always had our share of what-if/outside-looking-in questions about prisons, but this past month we've had several "I or someone I know is going to/getting out of prison"-related stuff.

Anyone care to offer some thoughtful insight or out-of-ass speculation? Perhaps this sidebarred comment has loosened some lips?

Why doesn't matthowie have a $200M valuation?

Why is MeFi not part of the social news site boom? Digg, reddit, newsvine, and others are the lucrative hot trend, but MeFi seems to do the same thing better (no Ron Paul spam), smarter, and for longer, and we even have favorites, for those who want voting-like capabilities. So why is MeFi not included with these young whippersnappers? And why are they not learning from MeFi's evolved model of light moderation, talk pages, and strong self-policing?

I count 7 sex-related questions on askme today. What's up with that? Desirous of titillation, I frequently check the 'sex' tag for askme. For weeks it's been fairly devoid of new questions. Then, bam, today... everybody wants laid. Is it seasonal? Or is it just folks who're triggered to write a sex question by seeing one earlier?

They used to be rather pleasantly nonexistent, and I was under the impression that they were traditionally frowned on here.

So is this the new trend in Metatalk?

So is this the new trend in Metatalk? Multiple postings on the same subject (3 on Steven's mating call; 2 on the Rorschach applet...so far.)? Are we *TRYING* to make people feel bad here, or just trying raise their inferiority complex a notch?
