Amazing list of curmudgeonly websites

There was an askme (I think) not too long ago, about websites that are amazingly specific, usually maintained by a cranky crank. It's where I found the sauce packet database for example... So many amazing links. Maybe even a link to a big website of other links. Somehow I seem to have lost it and I'm sad. Anyone remember and able to point me to the thread?

Metafilter Webring

Lately I’ve seen people resurrecting the Webring(!)

I was wondering if members would be interested in submitting their websites to such a metafilter webring — it would link to all sorts of nice things that people made?

Member websites, members only?

My little pony request. Can we have the option for our websites to be available to members only? It makes sense, in that we have the visibility option for members/everyone for Twitter/FB/other social media, can we just add website as a field for that as well? [more inside]

Roma Pony

Is there anyway we can add Rotten Tomatoes to the list of social apps on our profiles?

How do I disable MetaFilter's stylesheet / css permanently?

As much as I love MetaFilter, I hate its color scheme / stylesheet! (Sorry!) I find it hard to read. I want to permanently disable the css so that every time I visit the site I only see the basic html. I am using Firefox. [more inside]

Metasocial

Didn't there used to be a webpage that showed you all the Mefites' social-networking-website accounts that we have listed in their profiles? Or something? [more inside]

Craigslist can only take me so far...

I was hoping you could help me find a specific recent Job / Career Search MeFi question. One of the answers was a list of several job search sites. [more inside]

Favorite member sites?

Right now there are 35,070 members in MetaFilter. Many members have their own unique personal sites. Which are your favorite less-known ones?

Add something about other online communites to the profile page.

It would be nice if the question Are there any other community weblogs where you regularly participate? could be added to the standard welcome questionnaire ("What's the deal with your nickname? When did you first start using the Internet?" etc.) [More inside.]

seethru.co.uk is closing down

seethru.co.uk is closing down. i never really liked it anyway but would check their weblog now and then for some lame online quizzes. however their random url generator and websites no-one has thought of yet were pretty good.

Q: what is the best designed weblog?

Q: what is the best designed weblog? For me, it's either what Kottke.org used to look like or DiK.

We got ourselves a website

We got ourselves a website: alt.guitar.bass doesn't have any posting guidelines, or a benevolent dictator, or a separate site to bitch about what the proles are doing. Yet it's helpful, friendly (to the point where people notice), and self-regulating. It's also expanding to a website (above) and a binaries newsgroup for pictures and mp3. Despite having long, abusive flamewars, it's a solid community.

Can we search for links?

We can search for specific text, but is it possible to expand the search capability to include sites linked to? (Search for any links to www.whatadeal.org/foo/ for example.) This would help in determining if something is a repeated link or not.
