Metafilter's background is white? Have I gone insane??

The white (ie the blue with the white option set) takes an age to display for me using IE on Mac OS 9 or X; far slower than it used to be. The status bar usually reads something about loading javascript/comments.js and activespell.js (IIRC) while I'm waiting.

Has something changed? Grey and green are fine.

No, I'm just reading a shitty front page. Oh, do excuse me. I completely forgot that a dead celebrity overrides the requirement to actually have a link in your FPP. Honestly, I should be dragged through the street and shot for my audacity.

don't know what i've done, but the last couple of days i seem to click on a link and the whole screen just reverts to white background and blue letters with underlined links rather than the link i'm trying to access. seemed to happen most with search features....
what have i done? is my pc about to meltdown? ;-)
