I just used AskMe's Google search box to search for "Bush speeches" in an effort to find this post. The third result was this one, with ask.metafilter in the URL but it's obviously a post in the Blue.

"www.ask" is not the same as "ask" as far as the domain resolution is concerned, and anything that isn't one of our special domains (ask, metatalk, projects) bounces back to the blue.

Why it was spidered as www.ask is maybe worth wondering, but then we had that whole bukkake issue recently too, so, eh.

Skimming the URI RFC2396, I don't see any mention of technical limits, though surely there are practical ones?
