Tampa Meetup! October 10, 2008 4:52 PM Subscribe
How about a Tampa meetup next weekend? DaShiv will be in town, and he'd love to meet the natives.
The possible dates are the 17th, 18th, and 19th. I'm not too familiar with the Tampa bar scene, so suggestions are welcomed. The previous meetup took place at the New World Brewery in Ybor City, and that worked out very well.

We indeed had a lovely time at the New World Brewery, though it might not be as quiet over a weekend in October as it was the day after Christmas.

Seriously, DaShiv is coming?! That's awesome! I might even be able to come. Have to check my calendar, and the kids' calendar, and the spouse's calendar...*sigh*

I'm up for it, and it would be my first MeFi Meetup.
As far as bars are concerned, there are quite a few in Ybor that would work well - can I get an idea of what's a good ambiance for the MeFi Meetup?
Also, not to throw down or anything, but if able to go, I'll be bringing my cameras as well :P

Tomierna, welcome to MeFi meetup land! Ideally we'd want a bar that's not too loud or crowded, so as to allow for conversation, and has tables of a decent size, so that everyone could fit. A good drink selection and some personality are always pluses. If there's any food to be had at the bar, or nearby, that's even better.

Alright, let's meet on Saturday, the 18th, at the Tampa Brewing Company, starting around 8 pm. (Thanks for the recommendation, tomierna! I checked it out earlier tonight, and I think it'll be perfect.) I'll try to get a table in the back, by the pool table.
Willmize, that place in St. Pete looks really neat, but I'm guessing that more people would be willing to go to Ybor...
