My shake brings all the ponies to the yard. February 18, 2012 2:18 PM   Subscribe

Eety beety babby pony.

I like the IRL site. I like going to events. I like leaving each event's posts in my Recent Activity feed, because I'm incredibly forgetful and that's a good reminder that events are coming up.

But right now, unless the user specifically adds it to the body text, you can only see the event info (the who/where/when immediately below the map) if you go to the post itself. I would like for the event's info to also show up in Recent Activity, along with the current title, which site it's on, and the first part of the body text. Maybe stick the event info above the body.

Given that Recent Activity is pulling info from all the different Metafilter sites which don't have any analogues to the event info, I understand that this might not be as small a pony as I'm thinking it would be. I will remain hopeful.

The problem with this is that the space in Recent Activity is very limited. Adding several more lines to IRL posts is not going to work very well. I understand the frustration, but it's not too difficult to click through. And we do include the event date in Recent Activity after the post text. So that should provide a reminder that you need to click through soon to get more info about where the event is.

I didn't even have time to construct a tiny pony coffin.

I'm imagining one of those minority report floating gel things.

Great, now when I picture pb in my head he's going to look like Dennis from 30 Rock.

Hmm, I'm not seeing that. Windows 7x64, Firefox 11b2, screenshot.

Either way, thanks for the quick response! :)

Huh, yeah, we made that change on November 30th which was right before a big server move. So it must not have made the move over. I just did a quick update and it should be showing up now. Sorry about that.

Ah, yes, it's showing for me now.

Wasn't that a kind of a pony now that Evilspork can actually see the event dates that pb just fixed?

Does pb carry a pager?

I mean, I know this is jokey and all, but if I were notified by email whenever a new MeTa post was thrown up (like the mods are) my phone would vibrate and go dooodle-a-boop. So... it's likely, yeah.
