1)When do post on MetaFilter and when on AskMeFi? I can't decide which one to post my questions on? I read many questions on both but they all look general (any topic except about the website itself) to me. 2)What is "Uptime"? I see it in the "category" below 3)Why doesn't the category list AskMeFi, and MetaTalk Couldn't the question/request be specific to MetaTalk for example? 4)"My request requires community input and cannot be addressed by contacting MetaFilter staff." I checked the box because you have to in order to post but I don't think that it can't be addressed by the staff, I just find the community could answer it sooner, and others may have the same question.

This is the only way my ESET NOD32 Antivirus program will let me communicate with MF right now. Whenever I try to open something on MeFi or AskMeFi -- or the Contact a Moderator page -- I get a notice that the connection has been terminated because of a JS/ScrInject.B trojan. I was doing fine reading the past 24 hours of MeFi until just before posting this. Can anyone confirm there's a problem, or has my antivirus program gotten out of hand?
Twice in the past month I've sought information on the wider web only to find that the answer was here all along. Turns out that noise in my head is my tensor tympani muscles flexing and that someone else had a question about that line from L&O:SVU a decade ago (they really did need a warrant to arrest someone in his own home). So: what cool things have you left MeFi to find, only to find them back here on MeFi?
Minor MeFi-spotting: is there a MeFite at Bookforum? [more inside]
"Five years ago, I joined MetaFilter. MetaFilter began as—and primarily remains—an online space for members to share interesting links and comment on them. Period, end of sentence. But a few specialized subgroups have developed, including one of my favorite places on the entire internet: AskMetaFilter." —Liz Entman Harper, Editor/Stylist at The Morning News. [more inside]
An interview with Jessamyn West: lifeguard, librarian, mod. "AskMe anything, in moderation." At The Big Interview.
I thought I was posting a question on AskMe, instead I posted it to the blue. Can my question be moved? Pretty please?
