Keeping score on our King William's Quiz solvathon

A December tradition around here is taking a collective whack at the King William's College General Knowledge Paper (or Quiz). The answers have been published, so we can have a look at how we did. Here's our solvathon discussion. Our answers were recorded in this Google Doc created by rewil. I have now added to that, as Column C, the official answers as released by the college (PDF). (Guardian link for same.) On the Google Doc, our answers are in Col. D. Red shading indicates our wrong answers, of which there are 14, out of 180. So we got a 92.2. (You might quibble with a few of the official answers, though.)

Can You Ace This One Weird Quiz? CLICK HERE to Find Out!

I took this awesome thread where MeFites riffed on the idea of turning classic and popular books into Upworthy-style headlines, and the excellent spreadsheet that divabat created, and turned it into a Sporcle Quiz. How many can you get? [more inside]

Quiz Me

Remember when someone made that quiz about MetaFilter members on that website where you can make quizes? Can I get that link again? Just the main site works too since that's what I really want.

Who's Your Buddy?

It's The Old Problem: You Never Know Who Your MeFi Buddy Is - but MetaFilter's own Mr Skallas has devised a cunning quiz that just might help you find that difficult-to-locate alter ego you've secretly been searching and, indeed, yearning for. Or, if this is not the case, which fellow member has unconsciously been influencing your every word. The rat! [To avoid disappointment, note that this will not tell you, as iconomy's questionnaire did, which MeFi user's posting style you most like - rather it will quite precisely identify which Metafilter user you are most like. Enjoy!]

What kind of callout is this?

Generic bitching:

Let's start a pool to see how many quizzes will be posted to MeFi in the next year.

Ok, 2 in a day isn't that much compared to the rest of the week.. maybe someone should register amiaquizornot.com.

Annoyed by "What [x] are you most like?" Sites

Am I the only one who finds the proliferation of What [x] are you most like sites on the Internet annoying? Note that I'm not saying they shouldn't be linked on the front page, just that most of the ones I've seen on the Net as a whole have been pointless and increasingly nonsensical. The sites that attempt to tell you how [y] you are with a percentage are equally ludicrous. I am not, for example, 22% goth.

Firda made a Weblog Hipness Quiz

It's inevitable: Firda made a Weblog Hipness Quiz, with aggregated results here.

Yeah, I got a 30. But I lied about one of the answers.

What Dictator/Sitcom Character are you?

Collectively, the Weblog Community has been ga-ga over sites that claim to analyze your personality (the generic personality types, what kind of dog are you, your celebirty mate, sci-fi character types, etc., you know the links).
Well, now it's become popular to use the Dictator/Sitcom Character Guesser in the same manner, by answering all the questions as yourself.
Early results: Ev is Lou Grant, Jason K. is Jack from Threes Company, Brig is Gary Hobson from Early Edition (WHO? The guy who gets tomorrow's newspaper and tries to change it), Bumper Bob is Frohike from X-Files, Jezzicuh is Willow from Buffy, there's even a 'blogger who's one of the Powerpuff Girls.
Who am I? Er... uh, well... On first try, I came up as Hans Moleman from The Simpsons, but after changing my answer to "are you losing hair" to "no" (it was lost years ago), after 43 questions I came out as that wacky neighbor Wilson on Home Improvement.
SO WHO THE HECK ARE YOU?
