Sounds good to me. Is that the one in Capital Square? I'm not too familiar with the drinking establishments (why did I move here again?).

I know that the Essen Haus has a good set of dart machines, but that's my old-timer talking. I haven't been in there for nearly a decade.

Essen Haus will be pretty busy on a Friday night - especially with the students back fresh from summer. Perhaps we could try somewhere farther from them?

Weary Traveler? Jolly Bob's? Wonder's Pub? I skew east, since I live on the North Side. But I'd be willing to drive just about anywhere that isn't west of Midvale Blvd or south of the Beltline.

I'm down. Might I nominate the Up North bar? It's right next to the Essen Haus, has an excellent beer selection, and has never been crowded, even when the Essen Haus is packed. Plus, there's a patio outside and amusing taxidermy inside.

Up North has a patio for the smokers, and (I think) a dart machine.
If our guests of honor are busy pinchin' out a baby that night, I say we do it anyway.

I have a nagging feeling I have something going that night, but if I can dig out my calendar and it turns out I'm wrong, it's quite possible I'll make my way over from the east. (Provided gas isn't up to a zillion dollars a gallon then.) Just let me know when and where.

If anyone's attending Taste of Madison this weekend, my wife's the cute redhead handing out beer at the Stark Real Estate tent.

Oh, yea, and if you need a house, go through her. Otherwise, I hear it's good beer.
