Oh crap, well what I'm "up to" is going into an oral surgeon's tomorrow to get a couple of impacted wisdom teeth dealt with. Happy fun painkillers, here I come!

DaShiv mad photography skillz never fail to impress -- outstanding work as always, sir.
(and impacted wisdom teeth -- I speak from experience here -- aren't always as scary and painful as they sound, you'll see. no joke obviously, but their removal was strangely bearable. good luck!)

I, for one, can vouch that these people are approximately as gorgeous in real life as they are in DaShiv's photos. He simply evokes it. I miss LA.

Jesus, what is it about LA? Magic dust in the air? Was I that good-looking when I lived there? This could be a publicity shot for an upcoming movie. And if they make a MeFi movie, I want the_bone to play me. (Just grow the beard and mustache out and cultivate a thoughtful look that some perceive as stern.)

Those photos are awesome, DaShiv!

For all those who missed the meetup and would like a do-over, a few of us are getting together for happy hour at Hamburger Mary's in WeHo tonight around 7:30. There will be a bunch of non-MeFi people there, but mandyman, Space Kitty, radio7, sexyrobot and I will all be there getting our drink on (DaShiv will not make it, alas, having just suffered the slings and arrows of outrageous molar extraction). Email me before 6 or so if you want more details, or just show up.

Heh. I jumped right to the link and looked at the pics. Now I'm so glad I stopped to read the comments here. As the instigator of the Bay Area meetup, I was beginning to panic. "Jesus, is everybody in MeFi some kind of fucking model? Am I the only fat old person showing up? This should be humiliating..."

Thank God that everybody here seems to agree that it's just (a) LA and (b) DaShiv's mad photo skillz.

Wow, none of the MeFi people I know in New England look anything like that. I think it must be like in the Civil War, when you could hire someone to enlist for you. All the LA MeFites just hire out-of-work actors/actresses to represent themselves in the photos. (Also wow, that guy DaShiv sure takes great portraits.)
