Ride to LV Meetup

Who from the Bay Area wants to ride with me to Las Vegas for the MeFi/MeCha meetup there?

I'm leaving the morning of Saturday, Sept. 23rd and plan on attending Jonmc's wedding. Book your own room. I'll be driving back on Sunday, the 24th. If you can share the driving, cool. I'll probably be smoking at the wheel for such an occasion,m FYI. Shotgun is reserved for DaShiv, brundlefly, or caitlinb, whoever responds first :)

There was only one road back to L.A. US Interstate 15, just a flat-out high speed burn through Baker and Barstow and Berdoo. Then on to the Hollywood Freeway straight into frantic oblivion: safety, obscurity. Just another freak in the Freak Kingdom. We'd gone in search of the American Dream. It had been a lame fuck around, a waste of time. There was no point in looking back. Fuck no, not today thank you kindly. My heart was filled with joy. I felt like a monster reincarnation of Horatio Alger: a man on the move, and just sick enough to be totally confident.

s_r: Recently moved to my new place, and still waiting on DSL to deliver me the Internets! Until then, I've only got a few stolen moments at work here and there.

Thanks a ton for the invite, scarabic! I think the lodging/entertainment expenses will be out of my budget though, unless someone last minute needs another head to chip in for a cheapish room on the 23rd or something. Otherwise, I'd definitely be up for riding along and helping to split gas costs -- I should be free that weekend. The following week though I'll be busy with a wedding to shoot in LA...

I can't figure out why you got a hotel room at all, scarabic- you're going to be in Vegas for (less than?) 24 hours, most of which will be spent partying and drinking. Stay out all night, yahoo!

It's about a 10-hour trek, Space Kitty so an LA pickup would be hard to pull off. A shame... it would be great to ride in together!

Damn, stavros, that's some bad timing (as it were). Elizard and I will be in Vegas so I guess we'll miss you. If you wanted to meet up with anyone, get ahold of porpoise - he's great to hang out with.
