I thought I was bad with my MeFi affliction, being in between jobs, but the history in the sidebar to your link is most amusing (or perhaps I mean gratifying as I'm not the only one reading out-dated posts). I had the pleasure of meeting you at the only meetup I've been to so far, last year in Toronto. You were very friendly and easy to talk to, for sure.
I was feeling awkward enough, being really new to Metafilter/meetups, etc., and also the only drinker at a table full of glasses of ice-water...BUT then you told the table about an anonymous question you had nixed for that week, ("I mean, can you believe that?") not knowing it was mine. So that kind of sucked.
At least I got to be the one to inform you of the long-standing Canadian institution of buying milk in bags. You were flabbergasted.
Happy happy, no hard feelings.

FYI, I just got back from John Hodgman's reading at Powell's books here in Portland, where he asked whether Matthew Haughey was in the audience.
John claimed to have a birthday present for him, and was disappointed that he failed to make an appearance.
At that point, some sort of small sign was held up, a photo was taken, and the instruction was given: put that on the internet somewhere.
So, um, yeah. There's that.
