Seattle meetup: weekend of June 8th? I'm going to be there for just the weekend. What say you? Saturday the 9th might work the best.

I like June 9 better and would do my best to attend. Years ago we did an outdoor meetup at Gasworks, wonder what the possibility is of something similar? posted by vito90 at 11:46 AM on May 16, 2007
Wow after reviewing those pics it seems like a more concrete plan would be the way to go :) posted by vito90 at 1:01 PM on May 16, 2007
I'd love to do a meetup, but I'm just going to be getting off a 14-hour plane flight from a 3-week vacation on the 9th, so I'll probably just want to go home and reacquaint myself with my bed. posted by matildaben at 1:42 PM on May 16, 2007
Naw, vito, it was great in the end. posted by kindall at 7:37 PM on May 16, 2007
I'll be living in (near) Seattle this Summer (YAY!). I would love to have a meetup while there. posted by !Jim at 1:32 AM on May 17, 2007
So yes, the 8th would be great. posted by !Jim at 1:34 AM on May 17, 2007
I'd probably be up for this. What sort of place would you like to meet up at? posted by j.edwards at 10:04 AM on May 18, 2007
Somewhere on Capitol Hill. posted by bingo at 1:48 PM on May 18, 2007
The last time I saw Bingo was at a Mefi meetup right before I left New York, so it would seem to poetic to see him right before I leave Seattle. Also, I like Liberty. posted by astruc at 6:50 PM on May 18, 2007
Is this guy gonna be there? He kind of owes us all a big thanks. :) posted by hincandenza at 6:58 PM on May 18, 2007
I live in T-town now, so heading to Seattle is more of a production than before. That said, I'll try to make it. posted by O9scar at 12:30 AM on May 19, 2007

I know! I noticed that when I was looking though them again, and I knew then [and know now] what your username is! I fixed it. posted by jessamyn at 6:20 AM on May 19, 2007
I hadn't seen any of bamassippi's posts since the original "I'm thinking of moving to Seattle..." question. That is awesome! I am only going if he's going.
nah, I'll do my best to make it regardless...
Liberty's cool, but kinda smallish. How many people does one of these things usually draw? posted by Slarty Bartfast at 11:06 AM on May 20, 2007
Does the Comet still exist? Or Eileen's? posted by bingo at 11:20 AM on May 20, 2007
I think the Comet exists, but I haven't been there in years. I was going to suggest 22 Doors, just down the street from Liberty which is bigger but still small table oriented. For large and in Capitol Hill, nothing beats the Elysian or Six Arms. posted by Slarty Bartfast at 12:50 PM on May 20, 2007
Ah yes, I like the Six Arms. posted by bingo at 8:15 PM on May 21, 2007
I think we need to finalshizzie this dizzie. We probs need to select a place that will allow a reservation. I think they have always topped out at 15, reserving space for 10 might suffice. I vote Elysian. posted by vito90 at 6:21 PM on May 23, 2007
Even on a Saturday night, the Elysian will likely have the most seating without needing a reservation, so yeah- that makes sense, I'd say the Elysian makes the best sense: fairly central, large capacity, no reservations needed depending on when we arrive. It's kind of a default get-together spot on the Hill, too.
If they have it available: the Arch Wit is perhaps the finest beer I've ever had. posted by hincandenza at 1:08 AM on May 24, 2007
Elysian is also centrally located. Don't people usually break off and move to other places?

Great Scott, I might actually drop in this time. posted by mwhybark at 10:46 PM on May 25, 2007
Oh, and Elysian, I say. posted by mwhybark at 10:46 PM on May 25, 2007
And finally, Eileens RIP about three or four years ago. posted by mwhybark at 10:47 PM on May 25, 2007
Mike, come! I haven't seen you since... whenever it was. posted by astruc at 5:39 PM on May 30, 2007
January, 2005. No, wait... March? Before I moved. Anyhoo. posted by mwhybark at 6:59 PM on May 30, 2007
Elysian is fine with me, if that's where the zeitgeist is pointing. posted by bingo at 8:26 AM on June 2, 2007
So the Elysian. When? posted by !Jim at 1:23 PM on June 5, 2007
Seven? What do you think, bingo? posted by astruc at 9:21 PM on June 5, 2007
Actually, forget I said that. Earlier is bad. Later is good, for me anyway. posted by palmcorder_yajna at 1:03 AM on June 6, 2007
Okay, so Friday, June 8th at 7pm at the Elysian? posted by !Jim at 11:59 AM on June 6, 2007
I was kinda hoping for Saturday. I'm going to be in Seattle on business, and I can't say for sure what time I'll be done on Friday. posted by bingo at 6:23 PM on June 6, 2007
Wait, the sidebar says Saturday -- is it Friday now? posted by kindall at 6:26 PM on June 6, 2007
It's a bit confusing, because the top of this page says Friday. But the sidebar says Saturday because that's what I was really hoping for. Please let's have it Saturday, it will make everything easier. posted by bingo at 6:34 PM on June 6, 2007
Saturday, June 9th at 7:00 PM at the Elysian. posted by YoBananaBoy at 6:41 PM on June 6, 2007
I'm up for Saturday; I think Friday is not such a good day for a meetup, not least of which because I'd have to get across the lake at rush hour to make it... posted by kindall at 6:42 PM on June 6, 2007
Saturday is excellent. posted by !Jim at 8:48 PM on June 6, 2007
7pm Saturday is good. posted by bingo at 9:58 PM on June 6, 2007
I'm booked on Saturday. But keep the consensus. By odd coinkydink I will be attending a film on the hill that night. posted by mwhybark at 10:22 PM on June 6, 2007
Unless something comes up, I'll see you all there! posted by vito90 at 9:41 AM on June 7, 2007
Awesome, Saturday. The Wrens are playing that night but I will come by beforehand. Anyone else going to the Crocodile that night? posted by Slarty Bartfast at 9:41 PM on June 7, 2007
By odd coinkydink I will be attending a film on the hill that night.
During this time of year, I hardly think attending a film can be called coincidence (I'm seeing one tonight and probably two tomorrow). I'll endeavour to stop by, though. posted by j.edwards at 4:05 PM on June 8, 2007
My power went out at 2:30PM today, right in the middle of the open house I was hosting to sell my townhouse in Queen Anne (see my profile for link). A neighbor told me a tree brought down a power line during the storm this afternoon. Today sucked, not the least of which was missing the meetup. I hope you guys had fun. I am going to watch The 40-Year-Old-Virgin and go to sleep. Whoopee. posted by astruc at 10:36 PM on June 9, 2007
We did have a good time, and there were lots of first-timers and even a couple of non-members. They were of course initiated by means of weeaboo. posted by kindall at 12:44 AM on June 10, 2007
I must say I was touched to find out that Vito90 learnt how to spank the cat from me via our last encounter at the Gas Works fiasco. At last, a feeling of having made the world a better place... posted by y2karl at 10:13 AM on June 10, 2007
What, no pictures? What are us voyeuristic shut-ins supposed to do now?! posted by hincandenza at 11:48 AM on June 11, 2007
I think I have one picture on my phone. No one brought a camera, because they assumed someone else would. Once I finally get the picture of the camera, I guess I'll post it. posted by !Jim at 3:52 PM on June 11, 2007
Please don't post a picture of the camera, !Jim, that's super boring. posted by tristeza at 3:22 PM on June 12, 2007
