Why is it that you can post to AskMe as Anon and then make a normal post, but you can't do it the other way around? Once you've made a post the Anon link vanishes from the post page.
Is it just the link vanishing, or does the ability go too?
Can it be changed?
Not that I wanted to ask an Anon question - it just occurred to me when I pressed 'New Question' again by mistake...
No - I asked my embarrassing questions last week. ;)

The limit is one per week and we've added code to mark you as have asked an anon question, so you shouldn't be able to ask an anonymous question, then another normal one immediately after on the same computer.

Should've answered that one anonymously.

I think what happened here is that the answer above come from a timetraveling cortex from like mid-2007 when the above was correct. And if you don't believe that, I'll just edit the comments in this thread to make myself look smarter.

Oh past-Cortex, I see you're up to your time-travelling hijinks again!
Hey, where'd my grilled cheese sandwich go?

Time travelling cortex just stepped on a butterfly, and now his mama ain't fat no more. She's still a slut, though.

Is this what the expression "straining at a gnat" describes?

I was actually just about to ask if anyone else thought people were abusing anonymous questions: I mean, really. But if the loophole's been closed... I just don't get it. It's strange to me.

Really, we trust people to refrain from abusing the anonymous loophole, and I think for the most part it hasn't been a problem; it'd be nice to just keep running with that, and hopefully we'll never be in a position of having to do additional under-the-hood legwork just to stymie some sort of abuse there.
