It's nearly time for the May Chicago MeFi meetup!

Unless there is a great gnashing of teeth, the meetup will be May 6th (that's a Wednesday) at the Billy Goat.

Huzzah. So, some of the other enclaves apparently play board games and stuff at their meetups. Is there interest from the rest of the Chibal for that?

I'll be in town for the Leonard Cohen concert. I'm a native Chicagoan but I've never been to the Billy Goat. Maybe this is my chance!

Seriously, though, I'm looking forward to the end of the semester when my hours go back to 9 to 5. See you in June.

Oh, right, and I get in a little closer to 7:00, but it sounds like things should be in fullish swing by then. Plus, I know what half of you look like now, so I won't be reduced to drinking darks by myself while the party's on the other side of the room.

Hey guys, I'm considering requesting a Chicago meetup, some time in the future, be at the Reagle Beagle. I want to try it out. Has anyone been there that can tell me about it? I've been to the website.

We who are not of the ChicagoCabal are never adverse to supplemental meet-ups. In fact, some of us were just bemoaning the lack of drinking partners for this evening.

I've been to the Beagle a bunch of times. It's not bad - good girly fruity drinks if you're into that sort of thing. It's got a lot of the qualities that make the Goat a good hangout - not too crowded, not too loud, good place for chatting with friends. Usually pretty easy to snag a corner with a bunch of couches and comfy chairs. Decent food, good burgers. The 70's/80's theme is a little played out, but not too annoying.

I didn't think I was going to be able to make it. And have been busy enough that silence seemed an adequate way of expressing my non-attendance.

But!

Plans for tomorrow night has changed! So I'll be there! Probably about 7 or so as usual.

I am definitely coming tonight ca. 6:15/6:30. I will bring a lurker friend. Is there a particular place I should look? I have never been to the Billy Goat so I don't even know what to expect. If you see a blonde and a brunette looking around in confusion, that will be us.

It'll have to be a game-time decision for me. But to answer your question Locative, we usually grab some tables to the left of the grill as you come down the stairs. Not the bar side, the other side. This will be clear to you once you get there.

I know it's the height of tackiness to post a meetup thread, then bail, but I'm kind of against the wall finishing up some school work - so I'm probably not going to make it tonight.

Sounds like a good group will be there though.
