LA meetup to coincide with the E3 convention

Was there not talk of a meetup in LA to coincide with the E3 convention? What about it, folks?

Downtown, there's always the Standard and the Figueroa. Many other happening bars abound, but suggestions would be wholly dependent on neighborhood.

I'm in, but I have very little experience with bars outside of westside LA, so my suggestions are likely to be centered around Santa Monica or Beverly Hills...my tastes run more towards dive bar than swanky, but I'm fairly open.

BTW, what kind of atmosphere are we looking for? Asparagirl suggested Canter's Deli in the Fairfax District.
