Hototogitsu--if they have a cover, they won't start collecting until 10 or so and it's usually only a couple of dollars (not to mention easy to not pay if you've been there since 8 or so).

Oh, and y2karl, interesting that you're from KS as well. Chiggers are horrible, no doubt about it. Are chiggers "chiggers" everywhere, or is that just a midwest term? I guess I'll have something to do at work today after all.

Thanks for the link, but now what will I do at work? And I'm guessing that moving into Kansas for the last two years of high school is a hell all its own. At least it was a "city." I'm guessing you've heard of Blue Heaven and APO Records. If not, it's a fascinating place, probably not worth a visit to Salina, but cool either way. And the owner is an interesting guy.

Ah, Larry, the Austin of Kansas. If this had been 5 years ago, I'd be there.

hototogisu: I've been to the Taproom many times, there was never a cover. I don't think they even have a place for any bands to play. Be sure to check both upstairs and downstairs for people you know.

Looks like it is three nights in a row at the Taproom for me. I went to the Pink Nasty / Danny Pound show last night (fleacircus - bands have played there both upstairs and downstairs since before it was even the Taproom), MeFi meetup tonight, and I am working there tomorrow night. My poor liver.

Dang it, I'm just down the road in Manhattan but I missed the orginal meetup post and now it's too late to change plans. Please, somebody, if you do this again, drop me a note. If anyone's going to the show at the Granada next Friday, I'll be there - my cousin is in the band....
