NYC meetup June 9, 2006 5:22 AM Subscribe
REMINDER. NYC meetup tonight. Sundou Dumpling restaurant at 7:00. If you're not interested in food, then we'll see you at 8:30 at Revival. I hope to see you there!
I'll probably get to Revival before 8, if anyone is going earlier.

Ok, thanks, CL!
Sorry I didn't see your comment about Mars 2112, btw, Smart Dalek. I've never been, but want to go. Perhaps I can make it back for another meetup later this summer!

If I'm there, I'll probably hit Revival earlier rather than later.

Between this, and what's happening in Glasgow and London, are we all establishing some sort of record for simultaneous (and transatlantic) meetups?

I may run a little late, depending on the trains. It looks like it'll be raining, so I don't think I'll ride my motorcycle in. So I'm at the mercy of NJ Transit.

Must be. We should've set up some sort of iChat AV ultramegasimulcastversation thing?
Though by the looks of it, the Glasgow one might be me and you having a pint in the CCA bar...

No one should have to compare themselves to NY MeFi in terms of fabulousness. That way lies madness.

Ack, looks like I won't make it after all, I've been pulled into an impromptu opening-night showing of Pixar's Cars instead. I have the worst luck with meetup scheduling lately...>_<

Dammit. I missed mytrain due to bad directions. I'm still waiting for the next one. I'll stop by Sundou if I can make it by 8:30 since not everyone can make Revival. Sorry!

Besides, who needs dumplings when you have cereal bars?
The answer, of course, is "everybody."

yeah sticky, they turned off the third rail. The train was one car into the station. Now that I think of it the M trains are shortened (one or two cars shorter than usual), so he probably wouldn't have been hit regardless.
The MTA didn't seem to care much. I was standing near an MTA employee who was on the walkie-talkie when passengers were hoisting him from the tracks. He was explaining the situation to someone. You'd think they'd be trained to keep passengers off the tracks, and inform the victim that help is on the way, stay put, etc...
