MeFi Swap returns January 4, 2005 10:07 PM   Subscribe

As per last month's teaser, the Swap is back, better than ever and super sex-ay with the php/mysql automation-fu for the new year. Check the latest news before signing up, and have fun with it, kids.

This alone is so worth the newbie tax. Thanks Dreama.

sweet. Hope this goes better than the MoFi swap I did where 3 out of five thought sending a CD back was too much work.

I hadn't heard of the Swap before. Before clicking the link, I thought it was some kind of MeFi swingers thing.

This is pretty cool too.

I signed up a hella long time ago. I'm not sure if I'm in the list or not. If I sign up again will I end up in two groups? Should I sign up again?

*twitches nervously*

...the MoFi swap I did...

Yeah, I got the final CD from the first MoFi swap [back in June?] three days ago.

I'm in agreement with FlamingBore. I'm so in.

I'd be interested in seeing a "number of total swappers" on the swap page, though. And what happens if the number of swappers isn't an even multiple of 6?

I'm in too. And already wondering what I'll be putting on the discs.

Boy howdy, I hope everyone here likes Ashlee Simpson as much as I do because I've got tons of her trax!

I'm faithful at getting things in the mail, so I'm going to sign up to particpate.

I talked my husband into doing this. He was reluctant until he saw PinkStainlessTail's list of music on his blog. Now he is a bit more excited to see what stuff he might be missing. You guys better not let him down, or I will personally kick your butt(s).

Damn - I will never pass up a chance to make a mix disc! I've been waiting for this to get relaunched - mega thanks dreama.

He was reluctant until he saw PinkStainlessTail's list of music on his blog.

I'll be doing a brand new mix for this swap. 'Cause it would be cheating to reuse the one from cmonkey's swap.

And I think that may be the first time anyone's linked to Horsmanistan. I should probably update it more often. Maybe that's my New Years resolution...

"King's Lead Hat" is an anagram of "Talking Heads", you know.

In fact, I did not know that. Hmmm...

I'm totally going to record myself singing "Rhythm Is A Dancer" 10 times.

I'm really embarrassed about this, cuz it's the dumbest thing ever, but how do I find out my mefi user number? The reg form for the swap asks for it. When I go to my user profile it just says the date I signed up, it doesn't say my user number. Is this gonna get me banned for stupidity?

spicynuts, roll over your name in the comment above. The number at the end of that URL (http://www.metafilter.com/user/18204) is your user number.

I'm in, and I hope I get something strange. Because whoever I draw certainly is.

I'm looking forward to this! I'm already preparing several fascinating versions of John Cage's 4:33 for the lucky winners
