Why not MyMeta?
We have MyAsk. Why not MyMeta? How about a tab that filters by tags. Example: ignore anything with linux or politics. Keep anything with maps or art.
Tagging Metafilter
Is there any way of having an overlapping system of tags to categorize these MetaTalk posts? So for 'feature requests' that could be a sub-tag of either the 'Metafilter', 'Ask Metafilter' or 'Metatalk' tags. So when I want to see what is being discussed about improving Ask Metafilter I start by selecting that tag and then start clicking the sub tags to get more specific. Finally, the reason I am asking is because I am concerned about the flooding of questions on AskMe and the thing I would do is have a separate section for technology questions as those questions seem to be at least 50% of all questions asked. Cheers.
is there any chance of reinstating on MeTa the weblog-related category?
A forlorn plea: is there any chance of reinstating on MeTa the weblog-related category? Blogroots is just not the same - or even vaguely similar. MetaFilter is where so many bloggers hang out and, imho, discussions of blogging are part of the history and character of this place. As it is, items which would have been posted to the old MetaTalk category - such as this one - are showing up on the blue. I doubt whether many users here have the patience and fortitude to take them all the way to Blogroots.
With the fine new interface, perhaps we could do without categories altogether.
With the fine new interface, perhaps we could do without categories altogether. Although the taxonomy is great, I am now able read MetaTalk chronologically and it feels perfect. The general classification "about Metafilter" is enough. Plus, you get to read everything in a much more exciting way.
P.S. Although I confess to having been a sucker for Metafilter-Specific...

It's too easy to post to the wrong part of Metatalk

A callout that was moved elsewhere
Criminy ... can we at least confine our periodical links to stories published this century?
MetaFilter-specific area's post's number isn't increasing
Is anyone else noticing that the MetaFilter-specific area's post's number isn't increasing? It's been 31 for a couple of days now...
New comments by category
Matt--
As near as I can tell, the sort-to-top on the Metatalk front is by new threads, not new comments. Which is fine. However, I would like some kind of flag to know if a category (such as "weblog grab bag) has new comments since the last time I was here. It wouldn't have to be detailed. I'm thinking along the lines of a "new comments" column next to each category on the front page, with a yes/no value.
Or whatever, you're the designer I'm the one who thought black and neon green was a good color scheme.
