I'm terrible at remembering names. It would be great to have usernames that are favorites show up as a different color. Is there a way?

My little pony: how much work would be required to turn the "contains answers marked as best" checkmark on the front page of AskMe into a link to the first best answer?

Ponytime: I have a lot of favorited posts. If I want to find something from two years ago, I have to scroll through the whole list. Could the pages be numbered so I could go directly to Page 1? I apologise if this has been asked before, I didn't find any requests through the search engine.

I was having trouble figuring out how long I needed to wait before I posted again. I eventually found it in the
FAQ, and that's all well and good, but I found the FAQ itself difficult to find. Sure, it's linked at the bottom of the various MeFi sites, but only on MeTa is it linked at the top. That's an issue for people like myself that mostly read MeFi through the RSS feed and don't normally scroll through the site to the bottom. Heck, I didn't even know the footer existed prior to today! So my request is to link to the FAQ from the header on the sites that don't currently have it there.

What if the most recent posts on AskMe were displayed on the front page according to how many answers they had already received in ascending order, i.e. with those having the fewest answers remaining near the top for longer than they currently do?

Minor feature request: a via field on the blue's posting page. As part of the redesign, I'd love to see an optional field for including a "via" link. Two reasons: (1) it would encourage posters to acknowledge the source of the link, if applicable; and (2) it would allow
some interesting statistics to be generated from the aggregation of via data.

Another pony is roaming free. It's now possible to mark great answers to questions you've asked on Ask MeFi. Details and screenshot inside.

In AskMe, the button shouldn't say Preview the Link, it should say Preview the Question.

Matt, could you make the FPPs be unordered lists in the HTML? I want to be able to use the site with elinks in graphical mode. Just about everything else is kickass, and it loads lightning fast, but all the FPPs end up scrunched together and are very difficult to eyeball-parse. I think this would be a Good Thing, not just for links users, but for general browser cross-compatibility.

Crazy idea: What if Matt removes the paragraph/linefeed tag from the front page and all text formatting and adds a 'first post/more inside' box to the post a link page? The front page is simply cluttered and annoying when people have a lot to say directly on the front page. Perhaps even a character limit. The less of
this the better.

On the front page I sometimes mistake a
thread with an empty line and then another link in the comment for two separate threads. I don't associate all of the text with a single post because the spacing is the same as it would be for two posts. It's a minor thing and I realize there was more to the comment when I view it, but what about adding a delimiter to make it easier to tell threads apart? Or am I the only one that makes this mistake?

How about a standards-compliant version of
MetaFilter or
MetaTalk?
Disclaimers: (1) ignominious self-link; (ii) tested in Internet Explorer 5.1 and Netscape 6, should work in all CSS-compliant browsers; (c) guaranteed to look hideous in Netscape 4 et al; (IV) XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS validated by W3C.

I would just LOVE it if the "Older"/"Newer" links were up at the top of the page as well (in a fixed location). That way I could easily to the next thread without having to scroll down or go Back...
