Pony request: "reset" link for recent posts/comments count?

It's pony time! Well, maybe less of a pony, and more of a Falabella. Anyway, what about a little link on the front page of MeTa that resets your threads and posts update? I often return every half hour or so (I know...) and the count doesn't reset...

Show more threads?

Would it be feasible to increase the number of threads that appear with the "recent comments" feature? rodii made the point the other day that as the volume of posts has increased, threads fall below #20 pretty quickly and tend to die sooner than they may have in the past. If recent comments were completely chronological with no limitation by original thread date, it might result in fewer double posts.

Request: a way to reset 'new' comments.

I totally depend on the new-since-your-last-visit feature to determine which threads to read, but sometimes I'll load up Metafilter and then something comes up and I don't have a chance to read those 200 new comments.

I would love a tiny little button somewhere on the homepage to the effect of "Forget I was here," so that I could come back in another hour or two and see all 300 or new comments, not just the new ones since my aborted visit.

Request: button to list threads with new responses.

I hopped on to MeFi just now to find 4 new threads and 38 new responses. Only 36 of them were on my front page, which means I'll never get to know where 37 and 38 are. And I have my prefs set to deliver 7 days' worth of posts. This is the first time I can remember this happening, so I'm finally pushed to ask: Any consideration of a "list threads with new responses" button, or somesuch?
