Would it be okay to post a link to my book in a post?
I wanted to post about the current threat to abortion rights along with some links to information about how to get or do abortions. One of the links I wanted to include was to a book that I worked on. Is it inapropriate to put this post on the main page? (Since I wasn't sure, I posted it on projects.) Advice?
self-linker alert
Possible questionable self-linking in comments
Do new users know about self-linking? I normally don't care to police this stuff, but mickeyz has been a member two days and self-linked to his own banal blog twice so far.
Metafilter is not for pyramid scheme
It should be pretty obvious that stuff like this should not fly in the blue. Using this site as a quarry for pyramid schemes is inappropriate and action should be taken accordingly.
Self-links in comments.
has bonzo gone too far? three of four posts have been self-links, and now this comment....
I'm sorry I called out a user who self-linked

I ended up getting some slack on my comment toward Noah Grey for his self-linking within the referred mefi thread. I apologize if I stepped out of bounds in calling Noah on his self-linking. mathowie, I think you do need to make guidelines in self-linking (as well as members policing metafilter) a bit more clear. I had previously thought that self-linking is a offense all around while I guess it was just limited to the main page logging.
Again, apologies.
