End of another long week, let's talk about something other than politics. Many of us are coming up on winter holiday celebrations. One of the more traditional drinks consumed here in N. America is eggnog. Let's talk nog. Love it? Hate it? Do you make it yourself? Do you have a special family recipe? Do you buy the store-bought kind? Is there a particular brand or flavor you prefer? Do you add alochol to yours? Do you have any amusing/horrific stories related to eggnog? Did you know that eggnog once sparked a military riot (known as the 'Grog Mutiny') at West Point! Feel free to talk about any other holiday drinks you consume around this time of year. Or what you're currently drinking in this moment. It's an open thread. End of another week, let's talk about something not related to politics. Let's chat about breakfast. What is your favorite type of breakfast food? Are you a fan of cereal? If so, what kind? Or maybe you're more into oatmeal. Are you an eggs, bacon/sausage, toast kind of person? Do you like maple syrup on your pancakes? Bagels? How about breakfast for dinner? Or maybe you do not conform to these types of predictable conventions and just eat whatever you want? What about pizza? Or steak? Or noodles? End of another week, let's lighten the mood and talk about something that is not politics. Here in Canada it's bitterly cold and I could do with some warmth, some happy in my tummy. I'm thinking about soup. Tomato, chicken-noodle, broccoli-cheddar, roasted squash, whatever it is, share your recipes with MetaFilter. Feel free to also talk about your favorite store-bought ready made soup. Or maybe it's a memory of a really good soup a loved one made for you.
