MefiCSS Pony Request

For those of us who occasionally futz with Metafilter CSS styling (userstyles, Stylus, Stylish, etc.), would it be possible for the two "BR" tags following each comment (both in Classic and Modern) to be given a CSS style or id?

More styled CSS for some HTML elements, such as blockquote

Slightly better CSS: Could the CSS for useful elements like blockquote be improved so that quoted text from previous posts does not have to be faked with ? A now-common style of changed font, larger left indent, and line down the left side might work.

custom stylesheets

Not that don't like the look of MetaFilter, but I think it would be nice if the Customize page had a textarea field for specifying custom stylesheet rules. More inside...

MeFi and MeTa should be standards-compliant.

How about a standards-compliant version of MetaFilter or MetaTalk?

Disclaimers: (1) ignominious self-link; (ii) tested in Internet Explorer 5.1 and Netscape 6, should work in all CSS-compliant browsers; (c) guaranteed to look hideous in Netscape 4 et al; (IV) XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS validated by W3C.
