Login Error / Broken Link. Tried to log in. Was told to use a captcha. Didn't. Clicked log in and got a page which said: "Go back and use the captcha to log in." Clicked the "Go Back" link and got this page: https://login.metafilter.com/login/ which doesn't exist. [more inside]
What's up with the "type these words" login?
The new login procedure is annoying. [more inside]
Trouble logging in. Or actually not.

I got a couple of different messages, one saying "error, email Matt" and another saying "error, delete MeFi cookies, if problem persists, email Matt". I gave up, thinking I wasn't logged in, but when I went to Ask, it turns out I was.
Another related thing. Is the CAPTCHA case-sensitive? Because it doesn't say either way. That would have eliminated one possible avenue of enquiry into why login was failing.

Captcha borked
Captcha/Login/'badlogin.cfm' errors...
1.) If you log in correctly and the captcha is not correct, you will still be logged in when you go to the index page.
2) When you enter an incorrect captcha, you're directed to a page that simply says 'Captcha not correct!' ... not the badlogin.cfm page.
3) If you input your password incorrectly and are directed to the badlogin.cfm page, and then you input everything correctly and hit log in, it will direct you to a page that says "Contact matt if this error keeps happening" ... every time. ;)
Took me like 2-3 minutes to log in today. :-P

More broken.
Matt. More broken.
I logged in from another machine - OSX 3.9, safari 1.3.2
I get that goofy code that I have to type...and it doesn't redirect correctly. You'll see it when you logout and back in.

CAPTCHA problems
FYI, if you type in the wrong password the first time, the second login page continues to ask you to type in the letters from the image below, but doesn't show you the image any more.
