I've seen this 3-phrase trend go around the blue recently, e.g. in the title of this post and in various comments I can no longer find. Can someone please tell me what it means and where it comes from?

There's a bit too much "too much __________________" going on in MetaTalk. Every other day, MetaTalk hosts a thread wherein a user complains that a subject they find uninteresting is being overdone on Metafilter. Such threads are an expression of individuals' disinterest in a subject, and while there's nothing intrinsically wrong with such disinterest, it's somehow evolved into a continuing reoccurrence within MetaTalk that's just utterly purposeless.
