Proposed: DC Meetup 9/23-9/26
I'll be in DC from the evening of the 23rd to the early afternoon of the 26th. I've already heard about a DC MeFite wedding going on that weekend, does anyone else know more so we can plan a date that doesn't conflict?
Activity votes: brunch, afternoon beer, potluck picnic, latenight rant session

Thanks, and I can't really say who cior had in mind, but we're set for the 24th.

Yep, its the NortonDC/onlyconnect wedding I was referring to -- news that came to me through MrMoonPie. Congrats!
NortonDC/onlyconnect:
what day/time between 9/23-9/26 works best in harmony with your wedding plans?
Considering the circumstances of your introduction, do you guys have any fun input on where the meetup takes place?

MrMoonPie is coming to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner that Friday evening (right? and being joined by his beautiful bride?), and then the actual wedding day is Saturday. The ceremony starts at 4, we've got to get dressed in the tuxes and so forth ahead of that, so I think both Friday and Saturday are kind of impractical.
We newlyweds will be embarking on our honeymoon at an ungodly hour on Sunday morning, but other mefites should be good to go after Saturday.
We met at Gazuza, but in reality it took a month of begging after that to get her to go out with me again, so who knows what's gonna work out right for you. And if I remember right, If I Had An Anus had trouble getting in to Gazuza, even before he used that handle.

Heh, but now I always wear pants. They hide my deformity.

Okay, sounds like we're leaning towards Sunday (brunch/afternoon/late?) or Monday (brunch/lunch?).

I might be up for Sunday brunch as well. Any thoughts on venue/hood?

Heh, so THIS is how I find out I have plans for Friday night? It'd have to be Sunday night for me (and eviltiff) to participate.

Proposal #1:
Sunday Potluck Brunch Picnic at a unique park. We can all bring random edibles. Park possibilities: National Arboretum, Meridian Hill Park or Franklin Square.
Proposal #2:
Sunday brunch out at someone's favorite spot? As a non-native, my google-fu has produced these options (menus linked): Kramerbooks and Afterwords, Cashion's Eat Place, Ardeo or Odeon Cafe.

Technically, you're not supposed to picnic at the Arboretum unless you use their designated picnic spot, which (last I checked) was behind the gift shop. Sure, couples can get away with setting up a blanket somewhere, but groups will likely be hassled.
At any rate, I don't think I'll be able to make it. Sorry!
