Shoutout to the Mods September 27, 2005 10:13 AM   Subscribe

In amongst all the sniping and callouts I just wanted to interject that I find MetaFilter and AskMe on balance a very worthwhile place. Things can be frustrating sometimes in some of the more contentious posts, but this place has been a wellspring of information and thought.
Thank You Mathowie, Jessamyn, and thank you Metafilter community.

Heh. I agree, my post right above yours nonwithstanding.
I love Metafilter the way I love America: I want it to be the best that it can possibly be.

This post sucks. I demand a call-out, full inquisition, several tantrums and at least two threats of physical violence followed by a post-mortem. Come on then, who wants some?

I'm in!

Only if edgeways punches his momma in the face for not introducing him to Metafilter sooner.

Let's just skip to the hugging and post-coital cigarette.

Derailing the Todd Lokken jokes for a second ... I agree with the original poster. I think MetaFilter is great, and AskMe is awesome.

Besides the community, what I really like about MetaFilter is the degree of control over formatting. I've used a number of web-based forums in which there's no preview, and your comments get mangled one way or another.

Thank you jessamyn? Were you unaware that jessamyn raped and ate a metafilter user's kitten this past July. While these allegations are as yet unproven, with charges this serious the prudent thing to do is to reserve judgement until all the facts are in.

Edgeways, don't you dare rise above the fray! Damn you, you grateful bastard.

MetaTalk rocks too, ok? : >

I confess. I hate MetaTalk but I love it too. It's that sort of love where she drives you crazy but you want her and then she drives you crazy some more so you shout at her and she shouts back and then you slap her and she screams and kicks you and then she cries and you're all, "oh baby I didn't mean it you know I love you really baby I'm sorry I hurt you", and then she screams some more and somehow the clothes are coming off and you're rutting like beasts, all sweat and bites and scratches; faces flecked with saliva and blood and tears and you come like a racehorse and she's bucking and writhing and you love her so much but she drives you crazy and you were thinking about hitting her when you came and you feel dirty and angry and strong and weak and hopeless all at the same time. That's how I feel about MetaTalk.

That can't be just me, right?

No, just you.

Definitely not just you. Otherwise, why would we keep coming back?
