Photos of the recent Vancouver meetup
I apologize in advance for the utter suckiness of the interface - I uploaded most of these shots to Flickr on Tuesday, and they're still not viewable there. So I have managed to scrape together this patchwork system. HTML artiste, I am not.

Egad. Thank goodness for those b00bies in that picture of me -- it would otherwise be a horrible, horrible photo.

Looks like you all had a nice time, but just so you know this meetup doesn't count. Any Vancouver meetup without filmgoerjuan is like a NYC meetup without jonmc or amberglow.

Super good time.
For those who were vaguely interested in the UBC theatre season: Theatre at UBC

Hahahaha. Everyone in Vancouver has glasses and a funny hat!

(also sideburns, apparently.)

Not only that, but we all close our eyes when pictures are taken. Ah well.

Even with your eyes shut you provided a laugh for the many with a shoutout for sock puppets. That is talent!

cool---and i love the sock puppet shoutout!

You've done that for every single picture of you I've seen since you started wearing snazzy hats. It's as if, despite the lack of opaque, black sunglasses you're obsessed with the image of the blind blues musician. (Does such a beast even exist, or is it a figment of my imagination?).

oh, nice photos! That was a fun evening!

riffola - filmgoerjuan sent his regrets earlier that day.

I excel at hiding mine :)

Oh fer fuck's sake. How did I miss this? *confused*

Was Blind Willie Johnson blind? Did I just make that name up? I can't remember. Anyhow, I'm sure there's been a blind blues musician at least once.

Heh. You might have missed it if you'd heard about it too - the place we agreed at meeting at was closed when we got there, so we had to do a lighting fast move to somewhere else. Apparently this is a Vancouver tradition.

I think ori goes to the top of my "Nerds of the Unexpected" list.
A conspicuous lack of sideburns has so rarely been such an asset.

not sure what was meant by that.

Er, what? I've never had such a lag with uploading images to Flickr. In fact, the lag has never been more than, say, 10 or 15 seconds. Care to elaborate? Maybe you web-uploaded them, which is a bad idea with photos that are 2.5MB apiece.

I have glasses and sideburns, too, but I missed the call-to-meet.

I love those meetup pictures because they reassure me that I've got lots of company in the "goofy-looking" category, though I'll bet I'm more weathered and wizened than most of you kiddies.
